Zach Thomas in HOF: the Perfect Kickoff to 2020

Zach Thomas entering the Hall of Fame would be a great sign from the ‘football gods’

The Miami Dolphins gave plenty of positive indications to close the 2019 Season that better times are coming. Well, that is everything except for the arrest of Xavien Howard. But the best way to kick off the new decade and the 2020 Season is if Zach Thomas is inducted into the Hall of Fame.

No, Thomas becoming a Hall of Famer doesn’t mean jack on the field of play. But, this would be the best sign from the ‘football gods’ that maybe the ‘curse of Marino and Shula’ is broken.

Do I really believe in the curse? No…

… And yes. Miami’s luck turned hard south since they stuck it to Shula and Marino and that’s a fact. Whether the curse is real or imagined, who knows. But, the Phins giving the Patriots’ their worst defeat of the Belichick era followed by Thomas entering the Hall of Fame would be great mojo for a snakebitten franchise.

Are the Dolphins actually headed in the right direction? Will Thomas make the cut of the five Modern-Era players picked for the Class of 2020?

Unfortunately, Phins fans are in a holding pattern in both regards.

The NFL Draft in April will surely be a bright, neon signpost if ‘good times are comin’, but it’s still a ways off. Thankfully, we only have to wait until February 1st to find out about Thomas.

Last year, Thomas was one of the 25 semifinalists… but didn’t make the cut. At the very least he is moving forward in the process. Unfortunately, he has some stiff competition this year. Still, Thomas has 500 more tackles than Sam Mills who is the only other linebacker finalist. I think it’s a good bet with the sports betting software sites that the committee votes him in.

Zach Thomas what a player and what great memories he gave to Phins Fans

Zach Thomas was a player who shouldn’t have made it to the NFL, much less excel, by his physical metrics. Not only did he make it, but he’s near the hallowed halls of Canton. Thomas embodies the type of team being built by Chirs Grier and Brian Flores. It would be perfect for Thomas to get inducted and kick off a new Dolphins era.

Please let it be!

I remember getting excited that Jack Del Rio was going to be Miami’s Mike linebacker. And I also remember how shocked I was when Thomas took his job. But, it didn’t take long for Thomas to prove himself a Phins great. After leading one of the best Dolphins defenses for over a decade, Thomas’ trip to Canton is overdue.

Hopefully, someday I can say, “I remember when Zach Thomas entered the Hall of Fame”. It’s about time for Thomas, just as it’s time for the Dolphins to again make waves in the NFL. Go Phins!!!

Player like Zach Thomas are hard to come by. Who would have thought a 5th round picked in the draft would have had such an impact in the National Football League. We fans were very pleased with Zach Thomas performance on and off the field, He never disappointed us Fans.

He was just awesome to watch. I remember the first time he played against Peyton Manning. They showed Zach’s face inside his helmet and he had a bead on Peyton. He stared him down eye to eye. I think it was one of the few times I ever saw Manning rattled. I will never forget that moment. Watching Zach playing every down like it was the most important, you just had to watch. What a great player. He deserves to be in the HOF
