Tougher 2017 Schedule Will Demand Better Dolphins Team

2017 will need a Dolphins team far better than 2016

2017 Miami Dolphins need a much better roster to succeed

The NFL is not going to announce each team’s 2017 schedule until the third week of April, around April 18th to 20th ; However, the Miami Dolphins already know the 16 opponents that they will be facing, and where they will be facing them.

Just a quick comparison with this year to last, Real Bookies site like pay per head bookie service believe that Dolphins schedule is going to be far more difficult in 2017.

Half the teams that they will face next year finished the 2016 season with a winning record, and three of those 8 games will be against the Super Bowl Finalists… Can you say TOUGH!

And the icing on the cake: 2 games against the Patriots, and 1 game on the road against the Atlanta Falcons!

Beyond these studs, they play one team that finished 2016 with an 8-8 record: the Baltimore Ravens–a team that Miami continues to have trouble with.

The other 7 teams had losing records.

Clearly this needs to be taken with a grain of salt, because a team that was good last year might not be as good this year.

Of course on the flip side, some of the “bad” teams might be better as well.

Miami’s also loses a home game because they play the New Orleans Saints in London, which will count as one of Miami’s home games.

Yes, the Saints were below .500 last year, but as long as they have Drew Brees, then they are always going to be a tough opponent. And let’s be clear, there’s zero advantage in going across the pond.

2017 will give the Dolphins only 7 home games

Miami’s other 7 home games will be played against New England, Buffalo, New York Jets, Oakland, Tampa Bay, Denver, and Tennessee.

The only sub .500 teams on this list are division opponents Bills and Jets, which means they will be tough no matter what.

The 8 road games will be against New England, Buffalo, Jets, Atlanta, Kansas City, Baltimore, Carolina and LA Chargers.

One thing that is clear is that Miami will once again be going up against some of the better QB’s in the league facing three past MVP QB’s in Brady, Newton, and Ryan, and a perennial Pro Bowler in QB Brees.

No one in the NFL has an easy schedule, and there are no easy games, so there is nothing to be intimidated about, because to be the best you have to beat the best.

Two things that Miami did well last year, they will need to repeat in spades in 2017: winning their division games (4-2), and protecting their house, and winning at home (6-2).

If Miami can at least do that again next year, then they will definitely be giving themselves a good chance to once again have a winning overall record and make the playoffs again. This time with the hope of getting a “W” in January. Go Fins!!!

I just read that we’ll be trading Brandon Albert, not just releasing him ! Contrary to other post. Much better than 3 million in dead monies !!

From what I am reading (Dunner was the first to tell me and now I’m reading about it)Donald, the agent let it out that Albert was cut. They didn’t cut him and they are looking to trade him…you are correct. So many sites reported it that I took it as gospel…sorry for the fake news. It seems Jacksonville might be the most interested.

Next seasons schedule is over rated. Every year, some how we have a tougher schedule than the Patriots. How is that? So many match-ups depend on timing, location, injuries, etc. Starts with winning within your division and winning at home. Take care of those games and your on your way to a winning season. I think we caught a break this year with only 1 west coast trip, playing Oakland, Tampa, Denver, and Chargers at home. The challenging road games are KC (very good home team), Baltimore (they have our #), and Atlanta. Of the 8 road games only KC could present weather condition problems (not counting our division).

Once the 17′ season schedule comes out and we see when we play the games then you could get a better idea of the challenges ahead. Playing KC in Sept or Oct would be much much easier than going there in Dec. Do we play a Monday night game(s), at home or on the road? When is our bye and who/where do we play coming off that bye? Sure our bye will be in the first 5 weeks, just like every year, total BS, how about a late season bye for a change. Opening day, is it going to be home or on the road? If on the road, where? When/who do we play on a Thursday night game(s)?

We can not get a tougher schedule than last years (2 west coast trips back to back, in NY in Dec back to back, a early season bye, a short week on the road at another top team in Cincy). Then again, I guess they could have us open at NE followed by a trip to KC. The league did Miami a disservice with last year’s schedule with the games, times, locations opening on the road the first 2 weeks vs top teams. Not going to as bad as last years!

Yeah, I think it’s hard to tell with a lot of teams…who thought Miami would be a tough out last year if you weren’t a Fin fan? They made some big cuts today and with Albert gone that means they must go hard in FA or Draft to fill the holes…would prefer FA, but a blue chip for OL is very nice.
