Things to work on

With the Miami Dolphins entering their bye week, there is a lot to be please with, but also a lot to work on over the next two weeks, before their biggest game of the year in New York against the Jets. Even though the Phins won their last game against the Rams, there were quite a few areas where they were negatively exposed in the game.

For starters the Defense allowed 472 yards of total offense, including 162 yards on the ground. The Dolphins rush defense came into the game ranked number 1 in the NFL, only allowing 62 yards per game, but after being pounded on the ground like a chicken cutlet, they are now 5th, with an average of 78.2 yards per game allowed. This is still good, but you better believe the Jets new found rushing attack will be licking their chops to get a second crack at trying to exceed the 93 yards they attained on the Dolphins in the first match up. The D-line didn’t play terrible, if you take a way the big 44 yard gain along the side line by Richardson, and 34 yards by Bradford’s 4 scrambles. However, the Dolphins appear to be a very prideful team this year and football sportsbook software gambling fans should wager that they will not see a repeat performance in the Dolphins next outing.

In addition the Dolphins secondary let up 315 yards through the air, so this will have to be corrected before they face the likes of Tom Brady, because he could easily light the Phins secondary up for 500+ yards. The good news is that CB Richard Marshall should be healthy with the added week off, and this should automatically give the secondary a much needed boost.

The other thing that needs some work is the Dolphins run game. The rush attack started the season off very strong, but ever since Reggie Bush got banged up the running game has been pedestrian at best. Also I would like to see some more of Lamar Miller. After Bush hurt his knee I thought we would see more of him on the field, instead Miller has actually played less.

Lastly I would like to continue to see Ryan Tannehill improve, which is something football gambling fans can agree that we have seen throughout this season. At one point this season he is going to be asked to carry this team on his back, and it will be interesting to see if he can. I have this odd feeling that we just might see this happen when the Dolphins face Tom Brady and the Patriots. It would go along way to see him in a shoot out with one of the best QB’s of this generation. I believe that may be the next big test for him.
