How Important Is It That Nothing Happens?!

Here's to hoping alot of nothing goes on behind the scenes

Here’s to hoping alot of nothing goes on behind the scenes.

Sometimes a bunch of nothing amounts to alot of something.

I hope over the next five weeks nothing happens – and so does Adam Gase who had two classes on how to do “nothing” in the interim.

Even though this blog runs on Miami Dolphins news, sometimes you have to take one for the team.

I hope like the old Get Smart show that the Cone Of Silence comes down over Dolphins news and not a single peep or word is heard (I know that one flew over many of your heads, but that was shout for the geriatric aqua and orange).

Now, when I say I hope nothing happens, I’m not talking about football news like a signing, extension, return of a 3rd round pick, or something constructive like that.

I’m talking about good ole’ fashion trouble like drug arrests, “slips in the tub”, agents…ahem, players deciding to Hold-Out, bar-room brawls and the pursuit of love via a fist full of dollars.

Miami skirted a lot of trouble so far this off season and it seemed a safe bet with the best sportsbooks that it would be the beginnings of the same-old, same-old Dolphins issues. But, every issue ended up resolved and ultimately, much ado about nothing.

This is a prime chance for Miami to be a drama-less team.

This is a chance for this regime, and the 2016 Dolphins, to be ALL about football…and, I for one – and I know I’m not alone – would love that to be the case.

Alot of nothing mean all is quiet on the Dolphins front – and that’s good.

No Bully Gate.

No Queasy coaches on the hot-seat.

No turmoil among coaching staff.

No huge contracts to lament.

No massive draft blunders to pine over.

No injuries in camp to worry over.

And no arrests…as of yet (no jinx)!

At this point, Fin Fans only need to focus on one thing: Miami Dolphins Football. And I hope that when camp opens in five-weeks that all the nothing that happens in between now and then keeps it that way. Go Fins!!!

*Editors note: this is the second publishing as my two year old daughter pressed save draft before the pages was loaded, so I saved a whole lot of nothing and had to refill the page – ironic.
