Miller and Wallace are benefiting from the Lazor Offense

It has been well documented that new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor is installing an up-tempo offense with lots of motion and different formations. In addition to that, Lazor also loves throwing screens and taking shots down the field. Lazor had a lot of success with this offense last season in Philadelphia. Two players that experienced a resurgence in their career last season as a direct result from Lazor’s offensive scheme were Running Back LeSean McCoy, who lead the league in rushing, and Wide Receiver DeSean Jackson, who racked up 1,332 yards receiving and 9 touchdowns.

The one player in the league that is probably most comparable to Jackson in regards to skill set is already on the Dolphins; Mike Wallace. They are physically similar in size and weight, and they are both two of the fastest players in the league. Wallace has already expressed his approval and excitement about the new offense. Instead of being lined up in one spot all game long, as he did in Sherman’s offense last year, Wallace is going to be moved all around the field and should expect to be involved early and often in Lazor’s offense. Wallace says that he feels a lot more comfortable in the locker room this mini-camp, and he is ready to take on the added responsibility and leadership. This offense is tailored to get speed players in space, and down the field, so if Wallace doesn’t have a huge year, then he needs to be traded at the end of the season. My prediction is that Wallace is going to put up similar numbers to what DeSean did last year in Philly, and for all you football betting software fans I would suggest taking a shot on drafting Wallace in the mid-rounds if he is still available.

The other player that is perfectly fitted for this offense is Lamar Miller. He may even be faster then McCoy, which will benefit him when Lazor designs plays to get him in space. Apparently Miller has come into mini-camp gaining 6-8 pounds of muscle, making him stronger than he has ever been, and Philbin says it appears that Miller did not lose any speed from the added weight. (Hopefully, this added muscle was not the result of an off-season training regiment that Dion Jordan gave him.) The other day in mini-camp he burst through a hole and blasted past the defense for what would have been a 60-yard touchdown. That is what the Dolphins are looking for this season, and with the help of motion and steady dosage of screens in the flat, Miller should be able to get the space he needs to be able to utilize his world-class track speed.

Lazor’s new offense is going to give Wallace and Miller the chance to be Lazor’s new pet Jackson and McCoy, and there is a lot of hope and belief in the Phins locker room that these two players can make the next step this year and deliver top-notch performance. Phins fans are hoping this will be a match made in playoff heaven.

Well f***ing said and well written brother!!! Right on track to blow the top. Miller and Wallace with the ball in space equal more touchdown which means more wins. And with the linebacker unit and OL coming around we could be talkin AFC Championship Game. What are the betting odds one that! Go Dolphins!

Thanks, I truly believe this two players are going to have similar seasons to what Jackson and McCoy did last season. Right now the odds for Miami to win the AFC Championship are +2500
