Josh Rosen Brings Some Excitement to Phins Fans

Rosen had an excellent showing given the drops and poor protection

It’s only Week 4 of the NFL, Josh Rosen will get his second start, and there’s plenty of the season left. Unfortunately, this team is on pace to be on an epically bad pace. For many Miami Dolphins news fans this season can’t end fast enough.

The Dolphins have a mindboggling -117 point differential through the first three games. This is a league-worst since 1922.

There’s no doubt that this will be a long season.

The best free bookie sites have the Dolphins as a double-digit point underdog at home (again), which rarely ever happens in the NFL.

However, seeing Josh Rosen starter for the remainder of the season brings some excitement.

Rosen had a pretty decent first start. Sure there were no Touchdowns, and the stat line wasn’t ‘out of this world’ with 18 completions on 39 attempts for 200 yards. But if you actually watched the game, there were a handful of balls that were perfectly placed but dropped. Two of those drops were touchdowns… if caught. The stat line would have looked much different if the receivers had done their job.

Also, Rosen was active in moving in the pocket and creating a bit more time for himself to throw the ball. His mobility has been far better than advertised. Given the mess of the O-line due to injuries, this made all the difference.

Rosen progressing through the season will be a big positive for the future

Rosen wasn’t the reason Miami lost Week 3. This team has lots of issues to fix and the lack of overall talent is front and center. However, if Rosen can do his part, protect the football, and get this team in the Endzone, then Miami might not go 0-16.

Whether you want the 1st Overall pick next year or not, no Phins fan wants Miami to be regarded as one of the worst football seasons in NFL history.

With more games under his belt, Rosen should get more comfortable in the offense and improve. Sure he will need help from his supporting cast along the way, and this offensive line will be the Achilles heel for the rest of this season…

… But Rosen can at least give us a reason to stay tuned.

Considering the season so far with the opposition in mind

The Dolphins are not only 0-3, but they have not covered the bookmakers spread on any of the 3 games so far. That’s bad. However, the combined record of the Dolphins three opponents is 8-1, and the only loss was the Ravens closely fought game against the 3-0 Kansas City Chiefs powerhouse.

The Patriots are obviously the cream of the crop at 3-0. But their wins are against teams that are a combined 0-9. So it will be interesting to see how the Dolphins and Rosen do against teams that aren’t as good as what they have faced so far.

Miami has the 5th easiest remaining schedule in the NFL. This gives offer a little silver lining. But what if Miami continues their historically awful pace against weak competition? This will on make mocking increase.

At least each week the Phins have played a little better and lost by at little less. Maybe with Josh Rosen starting his second game, the Dolphins may even be able to at least make it a game and cover the spread? Cross your fingers, but don’t bet on it. Even with a 1-2 record, Phillip Rivers and the Chargers with be tough to get a win against.

No matter what, nailing biting and ugly games will be the storyline this season because this team won’t become a winner overnight. Let’s hope we aren’t saying the same thing 3 years down the line.

My point about the Quarter back is Rosen should stay regardless who we draft.

But there’s no excuse for the fins not to come out of next year’s draft with two solid quarterbacks.

2020 draft is the best QB Draft I’ve seen. 1st,2nd And 3rd round are QB’s who can start right now for the Dolphins.

I agree they won’t trade him till next year if they do. They have two more years after this and a 5th year option I beleive. Still not sold on them going all in for Tua. Best you’ve seen!! Wow… Think Phins can win today.

There’s been talked about the Patriots signing another QB this week.does this means Brady could have an injury or rookie backup Jarrett Stimans poor performance against the Jet’s.

The implications of the Kessler signing are still unclear. But unlike the passed dolphins who blew off the QB position and gave Tannehill a 6 year key, without the fear of losing hid job etc.

I’ve been out of it… Brady was injured and Stiman played? Need to watch the game… was so sick most of the week. Thanks for the info.

The Patriots like you Said are the cream of the crop for a reason. They buy what they need where as the dolphins begged for what they need and buy what they want. Hopefully this practice is over.

This was Jimmy’s… I disagree with him as there is plenty to watch the Phins for other than Rosen… he does bring some extra excitement though.

Rosen looked good considering the other players on offense. I thought the offensive line had improved a little until Davis went down. I’ve never seen so many board hands on one team in all my life.

No one on defense looked good. Baker was just okay. What a bad team!

Hey, sorry for the delay… but so damn sick! The worst. Five days now… this might be the end though.
I think your right about the board hands, but the right board hands is what they are trying to find. That’s the Pats formula: key players surrounded by the right board hands. If Tunsil was here the line would be much better… and I think that was the intention, but for that amount of picks I might trade my wife! It was irresistible. Howard was supposed to be another key player, but he is playing so bad it hurts. Jones was another and Albert and Minkah as well. So far they have struck out on the keys. I disagree with Baker he is terrible except in the passing games at times. I do think they can win today… must be the sickness 🙂
