Jarvis, Please Don’t Ruin The Fond Memories

Jarvis Landry was my ‘Fav’ next to Wake…

Jarvis Landry is a true talent with a ferocious passion

Jarvis Landry is a true talent with a ferocious passion

…But more and more Jarvis’ big mouth is validating why he’s gone

Throughout the early portion of the 2017 Season, the thought of losing Jarvis Landry made me very unhappy. It was a break up I hoped like hell wouldn’t ever happen.

But as the season wore on, and his mouth kept running, I became more and more eager to see him leave. Not because I didn’t like him or his talents, but a break up was better before it became even uglier. I could feel my fond memories of him slowly becoming tainted. So a clean break was best for all involved.

I was happy he got the huge contract, genuinely. He had earned it with blood, sweat, and tears. And without a doubt, I had every intention of rooting for him.

Landry was a steal of a 2nd Rd pick

But his mouth has kept motoring right along, despite getting $75 million with $35 million guaranteed.

A week or so back, there was his knock on the Dolphins QBs. He was ‘oh so happy to have such a better class of QBs’.

Despite the easy layup for an article, I didn’t bother to comment on it and brushed it off. Some stout Landry supporters said these comments were pointed at Cutler anyway, not Tannehill. It sounded good to me, and I put my head in the sand with a smile.

We’ll now he’s clarified it all up in a recent interview.

When asked about why he hadn’t heard from Tannehill, Landry told NFL Network, “I’m not surprised…We didn’t really have a good relationship anyway, so I’m not surprised.”

How classy would it have been to just say, ‘No, not yet.. but I probably will at some point.’

Taking the high road will serve him much better in the long run

He continued, “I wasn’t trying to look back in the rearview mirror, you know… I’m focused on here and where we’re taking it here.”

Landry attempted to walk it back inches, “I wasn’t trying to take a shot at him. I understand how hard every guy in this NFL works, especially at the position, especially at the quarterback position. But at the same time too… I give credit where credit is due.”

So Tannehill gets no credit in your production and the 10’s of millions you earned from that production? After throwing with his two new QBs for 2 weeks in OTA’s, they get more credit than Tannehill? As Shakespeare once said, “The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”

Does all of this make Landry a bad person? Hell no. Bad breakups happen all the time. Landry isn’t a bad guy in the least. But it does show a deeply seeded pettiness, especially after he was given his ultra-lucrative long-term deal. And it also makes him seem like the bitter, dumped girlfriend more than mature pro/adult.

Yup, Landry has every right to say whatever he wants. We have the 1st Amendment. For all we know, Tannehill could have been the bad guy in all this. Who knows the whole story?

But Landry is without a doubt cementing all the reasons why the Dolphins brass moved on from him. And for me, when I think of all the fond memories that “Juice” brought–and there are MANY–in his 4 years as a Phin… all I’m starting to think now is “Jilted”. So please Jarvis don’t ruin it for all those Phins Fans who rooted for you. For the love of God…

I think he wanted to be here and does feel slighted. I think Gase is 2-0 with Ajayi and Landry… it would be so weird to see him on the other side, Dunner…

One of two things I would think; 1) He has a point (not my belief) 2) He is really missing Miami (my belief).

Now maybe some people may start to understand the trade of Landry. Starting to make sense after all!!!

Boy I hope we get to play Cleveland next year. Just hope its not due to a last place schedule.
