Embarrassing Finish

Instead of finishing on a high note, the Dolphins finished off a disappointing season with a very disappointing loss against the lowly and hated Jets. The Dolphins defense absolutely imploded by letting up 37 points to the 27th ranked os84ffense in the league, and in the process they made Geno Smith look like Tom Brady. The Jets played an inspired game to send off Rex Ryan on a winning note, whereas the Dolphins looked like they were more worried about beating the traffic home.

The Jets clearly did their homework on the Dolphins and exposed all of Miami’s weaknesses. They were able to sack Tannehill a whopping 7 times and were constantly terrorizing and pressuring him throughout the game. On offense, the Jets were able to put up 37 points on the Miami defense. Over the last 6 games, when it counted the most, the Miami defense completely fell apart. In the last 6 games, tc96he Dolphins allowed 193 points, which is an average of 32 points per game, and allowed 373 points for the season, which was the third most points they have allowed since 1990.

Going into this off-season it is clear to all best bookie software sites like www.AcePerHead.com that the Dolphins need to fix their once stingy defense. For starters, it would be a wise idea to start interviewing for a new defensive coordinator. Coyle had three years with this defense and in his last season, it is obvious that the defense regressed to the point of being embarrassing. Secondly, Miami needs to probably replace Starks, who underperformed in stopping the run game, and who is getting up there in age. Mitchell did a decent job this season, however, it was evident that the Dolphins could have used Soliai. The Dolphins need to also upgrade their linebacking unit, something they did not even try to do the last off-season. Lastly, they are very thin in the secondary, and will probably not be re-signing Delmas or Finnegan, which means the secondary will be getting even thinner.

As if to put an extra exclamation point on the disappointing last game of the season, Wallace and Philbin were involved in some kind of heated discussion, that lead to Wallace’s benching in the second half. Wallace did not even speak for himself during the post-game interviews, where he had Gibson speaking for him giving vague answers.

The only positive spin that sports gambling fans could possibly take from this game, is that the loss at least gives Miami a better draft position by 2 to 3 spots. Philbin and Hickey better hit the ground running this off-season, because there are still visible holes in this team, and issues that need to be fixed if Miami wants to be able to make the playoffs next season.

Doesn’t all this ring familiar? The lack of talent, lack of quality depth, lack of confidence in the HC, being in a constant critical need to revamp a few areas of positional need?

What a joke this franchise is. After all these years under Ross…the team still sucks and has no depth, can’t develop all its young players, and in fact had the entire defense degenerate in front of our very own eyes.

How does this merit keeping Philbin?

Ross is an idiot as a football owner.
