Don’t Choke

This Monday night the Miami Dolphins travel to New York to take on the hated Jets. The Jets ruined the Dolphins hopes of making the playoffs last season, and there is nothing they would love more than to do it again this season. Miami needs to be focused on the task at hand and take care of business.

I have already mentioned earlier in the week that the Dolphins must do better running the ball and stopping the run, because those are the Jets strengths and if the Jets happen to win, it will because of the run. Miami must come into this game and just take care of business from the first snap of the game. The Jets have nothing to lose, so Miami needs to watch out for trick plays. If Miami can get up on the Jets early, then the Jets will fold like a house of cards and revert to their losing ways.

There is not much else to say about this game, besides the fact that the Jets are a 2-9 team and if the Dolphins have any desire of making the playoffs they need to win this game. Yes it is a division game so it has a higher probability of being a closer game than it should be, but Miami needs to play like they have been playing the last 8 games and blow out this team. The best sportsbooks in the world initially opened up the line as -4.5 for the phins, but it quickly jumped up to -6.5, and is now at -7. There is no reason that Miami should not win this game by double digits. Miami needs to play like this is a playoff game and just run up the score on the hopeless Jets, and make their fans leave the game by the 3rd quarter. Jimmy out.

Well everything I said was wrong we didn’t start fast or keep the ball and control it. but we won! I don’t agree that this is the wrong coach we wouldn’t be here if he was wrong. this team won a good win at NY. I said it before the Jets are a hot mess but they always are troublesome. in the last few years we lost to 0-8 or 0-10 teams at the end of the season and lost our playoff hopes. REMEMBER? Well this coach is doing a great job. look at KC they lost to a 0-10 team last week and maybe their play-off hopes.

Yes I agree with you tbone, the Jets always give Miami a tough time, no matter how good or bad they are. Yes Miami did not play well, but in the end they won the game, and they won a close game, which was the first time they won a close game all season. And Yes I believe in Philbin.

Everything on paper points to the Fins winning it, ugly or pretty, a W is a W.

The issue really are the injuries with our DB’s, and our soft run stop D of late. This game in the end (of the season) will be meaningless….because even a W doesnt get you to the playoffs.

Fins have much bigger problems with the Ravens coming in next week and then facing the Patriots in Foxboro in the snow/cold.

I dont see fins going anywhere at 9-7, and its barely an improvement from 8-8.

If Philbin was a very good coach, and I doubt he is, this team could go 10-6 and sneak in to the playoffs as a WC and be a one-and-done playoff team.

I am convinced Philbins coaching style will prove to be the final determining factor in the fins losing another game they had in their grasp.

Fins go 8-8 and miss the playoffs again.

Not much of a fan are you….we have the right coach, the right players, and a for real franchise quarterback. Dolphins win big tonight, and will make the playoffs this season. Go cheer for the jets or somebody else.

I agree with you Wayne, I like Philbin, I like our team and I like Tannehill, this team and organization is finally heading in the right direction. And yes phinfreak is always complaining. We have been irrelevant for 15 years, and now I love what I’m seeing with this team.

Shoulda – coulda – woulda. I hope this isn’t the signature for this game. The Jets have a history of ruining our chances of a play-off bid. I hope this team fights them off by starting strong and breaking their will before they start rolling. We have to keep control of the ball for long periods of time and make first downs.
    GOOD LUCK!!!!!
