Dolphins Trade In Peril…Good News?

091615_byron-maxwell_600

According to ESPN, a shoulder injury that ended Byron Maxwell’s season last year may have the Dolphins cancelling the trade. They originally reported it was cancelled and now they say it’s on hold till Miami doctors can reevaluating the situation with more diagnostics tests in Florida today as Maxwell couldn’t do a push up or a single bench press!

Could this be a good thing?

Ed Werder is reporting that the trade involves swapping of first round picks as part of the deal!

Without knowing the particulars of the rest of the trade, it’s hard to gauge if this is foolishness or not. But, on face value, two injured players for the this swap and other picks seems like a ludicrous move and shakes ones confidence in the sanity of Tannenbaum.

Yet, again we don’t know all the particulars. Maybe this trade back to #13 is where Miami wants to be in order to get the player they have chosen? Maybe this swap is better than what they would get if they simply traded back? Maybe Werder is wrong about the swap?

And maybe because I’m wearing red, I am Santa Claus?!

This trade is appearing ugly from all angles – not even the best football gambling fans would bet this kind of move inspires much confidence to an already leery fan base.

We have till 4PM to find out what the trade involves…if it actually gets done. Miami already apprears semi-inept, whether justified or not, and it just might be that Maxwell’s bum shoulder save Tannenbaum from a disaster.

***UPDATE***

The Miami medical staff has now cleared Maxwell and the trade is a go!

Steve, I have to say it makes sence for Ezekial Elliot. The teams between 8 and 13 are going to take defensive players and there at 13 will be Elliot as he would have been in the 8 slot. I preached for them to trade back and target Darron Lee, so that is still a possibility, but for the first time Elliot makes sense here.

Trade down and got 2 starting players in positions of need. Health a concern, if healthy, they can contribute, with plenty of time for more.

    Maybe

Stephen Ross needs to ask Jimmy Johnson to oversee this Foolishness? Fans will boo this season and ask for their heads If these two players dont pan out. Sure the Eagles will persue this they have million to loose. Walk away Fins just walk away rom this deal.

Deal is done and includes or is the swap of 1sts…if it’s just the swap, I’d lean back to understanding the deal. If it includes more then Tannenbaum reached.

Our Management has an easy draft meaning they have the winning hand no need to throw it away being Foolish. Ezekel Elliot out of all 1st threw 15th player completes all check/boxes. Now we are looking to please the fans then we would draft this way? Ragland is a player I would trade back to 13th with the Eagle etc. for A Second, Third, and 4th with option on performance for a 1st next year. Thats good looking out for your team.

    1. 8th pick: Reggie Ragland ILB 1 Alabama (Trade back for more picks 2nd round 55 Shilique Calhoun DE)
    (3rd rounder extra pick

Reggie Ragland, ILB, Alabama: 6-1, 247. Started two of four years. “Ragland is a great kid, great leader, great person, great worker,” said one scout with intimate knowledge of the Crimson Tide program. “His speed is good enough.” Dropped 12 pounds in the last month, presumably in hopes of running a competitive 40 Sunday. Several scouts said he wasn’t as good as D.J. Mosley, the Alabama ILB who went in the first round to Baltimore in 2014. Scored 10 in first attempt at the Wonderlic. “Alabama runs probably the toughest defense in college football to understand, and he ran the show,” another scout said. “He had to bide his time to run the show. He did it only his senior year. He’s a pretty serious football player. Very tough, very athletic, could cover really well. Mosley is a little more versatile than Ragland but Ragland can take the pounding a little bit more.”

    2. 42nd Pick: Vadal Alexander OG 2 LSU Sure pick for Dolphins
With that extra pick in the second round we could come out with RB Henry or
    extra pick 2nd round
53 Shilique Calhoun DE 8 Michigan State
    55 Kentrell Brothers ILB Okalamaha
60 Alex Collins RB 3 Arkansas

Dolphins just need not panic they have the best hand just wait for the right deal to trade back and be ready.

Now I’m hearing it’s back on…what a circus…this doesn’t bode well as far as omens go!

Initially I interpreted this trade to be okay! I began to have missed opinions about this trade. Bottom line Admin and FinFans what is the old saying? If it smells like a rat it most likely is a rat once you completely check for the rat. This article was taken below was taken from the Sun Sentinel.

The trade won’t be official until both players pass their physical exams. ESPN reporters Ed Werder and Chris Mortensen tweeted that a shoulder sprain Maxwell sustained in Week 15 that caused him to miss the final two games of the season is the source of concern.

Sources tell the Sentinel the trade hasn’t been rescinded, however the Dolphins want more medical scrutiny on Maxwell’s shoulder.

If the trade doesn’t go through the ripple effect could be significant for both teams.
My opinion the Fins need to walk away from this trade?

HE COULDN”T DO A PUSH UP..and then told Eagles he was fine. It better be dead. Wow, what complete crash and burn to start this process…

Steve, I usually try to be even keeled, but this makes me want to kick Tannenbaun right in the nuts!!

Initially I thought okay! But this deal is not looking good. We need to have players on the field. Any player the Dolphins wish to adjust their draft picks/Board for needs to be undisputed Pro Bowler, Super Bowl, Player of the year category or walk away.
