Dolphins On The West Coast To Work

All work and no play makes Johnny a winner.

All work and no play makes Johnny a winner.

Adam Gase made it clear: ‘You’re here to work’.

Last week before the Miami Dolphins traveled to San Diego, there was a lot of talk about Miami’s decision to stay in California after the Chargers game and get in their practice-work there. The benefit was that they wouldn’t have to travel back to Miami, and then head back to Los Angeles to play the Rams the following week.

This is the ‘road less traveled’ way of dealing with the back-to-back cross-country road games, and depending on this Sunday’s result it could prove to be an brilliant move on Adam Gase‘s part.

Gase and Co. reiterated that this week’s long stay in California was not in any way to be seen as a vacation. And one thing the best pay per head all bet on is, don’t mess with Gase’s rules. It’s a work trip, plain and simple, because Miami flew into California last week with a job to do: play and win two football games.

The Miami players intense dedication to their work has paid huge dividends.

So far they have accomplished half of their mission by winning the first game. Now they are focusing on the second part by trying their best to minimize any unwanted distractions that can arise from being on the road and in a town such as L.A. With all sorts of extracurricular activities that can be enjoyed, this move with test the team’s resolve of being profession-focused.

With several injuries forcing players to play longer and others forced to step-up into more prominent roles, this week will be a tough test. Bodies are breaking down due to this new violent style, so this game will take a display of supreme willpower to overcome yet another team with equally brutal style. But, I for one won’t count them out. Go Fins!!!
