Dolphins ‘Murderers Row’ Begins With Bengals

Dolphins must dig deep over the next 3 games to keep from going sub .500

The Dolphins 2018 Season isn't over, but it could be if Miami tanks the next couple of weeks

The Dolphins 2018 Season isn’t over, but it could be if Miami tanks the next couple of weeks

The Dolphins are going into Week 5 after a cold dish of reality was served to them… with a side order of ‘kick to the nuts’ by the Patriots… and the refs

The one thing I feared was the Dolphins getting embarrassed in New England…. and sadly, that fear was realized.

Now Gase and Co. are in their ‘man-up or wimp-out’ portion of the season.
Next up: The Cincinnati Bengals.

At 3-1, Cincinnati has the added luxury of playing at home this week. Most of the best bookie services like ACEPERHEAD.com in the world are predicting that the Dolphins will have a tough time against Cincy’s offense. The Bengals ‘O’ has been averaging 31.5 points per game, which is good for 4th most points per game in the NFL.

Bengals have the weapons to make this a game of who scores the most points

The Dolphins will have their hands full this weekend. This will be especially true if they keep going with Raekwon McMillan as the starting Middle Linebacker. No way Phins survive with their MLB blowing plays and only offering a couple assisted tackles a game… N.O. W.A.Y.

McMillan is now being exposed on the ground and in the air.

Andy Dalton has really spread the ball around this season to all his offensive weapons. With Bobby McCain sidelined, Miami must get pressure on Dalton to compensate for a weakened secondary. If not, this could make for a very long day two-weeks in a row.

Last week the Dolphins brought up Jonathan Woodard at DE who ended up with more snaps than Charles Harris. PFF graded Woodard very high. Both players registered 4 tackles each and 1.5 tackles for a loss. One of these players must step up… preferably Harris since he’ s a 1st Round Pick. Quinn and Wake need relief or they’ll burn out.

The Dolphins moved Cameron Malveaux up to the active roster and Phinsnews likes that one a lot.

Week 5 will be a good test for Howard

Howard will likely be sent to cover AJ Green all game, one of the best receivers in the league. To be the best you’ve gotta’ beat the best. Batter up, Howard!

Green has been his usual beast self this season with 20 receptions for 297 yards and a whopping 5 touchdowns already. In addition, he has 4 catches for over 20 yards. Green lit the Dolphins up last time we played the Bengals. If Howard is really a Pro Bowl CB, then this game will show whether he’s worthy of that conversation.

The Dolphins will obviously need to do a lot better job against the run. If they can get the Bengals off schedule it will help them with getting pressure. Miami is coming off a game where rookie running back Sony Michel carved them up for 112 rushing yards. The Patriots ran for a total of a 175 yards on the ground last week. They purposely attack McMillan and exposed him as a weakness beyond just his pass cover issues.

The Defensive Line has done more than enough to stop the run

Phinsnews has been saying “McMillan’s Tape Is Scary” since Preseason. Gase and Co. thought different… it appears they were wrong.

Miami will face Bernard and Mixon, who are both shifty runners. However, Mixon missed the previous game with a knee injury and is currently listed as questionable. So knowing Miami’s luck he will be ok to play this week.

The ability to run the ball and stop the run is critical… almost as critical as team discipline will be. Maimi will be hard pressed to win a shootout. Will Gase finally wake up to the fact McMillan is a liability? With all the injuries on both sides of the ball, Miami can’t get in a hole early. If this sounds like a broken record… it’s because it is.

What are the rest of the Miami Dolphins News fans thoughts about the Dolphins Defense matching up against the Bengals Offense this upcoming week?

    Hello Dolphins Fans and Admin!

Sorry I drank the Kool-aid, I really tried to support the team.

The season is still young! We have seen the Patriots for 18 season Win with Brady.
Atlanta was up by 25 points in the Supper Bowl we have watched the Seattle sea hawks decided to passed over running the ball. I believed both teams are now shell shock. Now Sunday’s game will determined is they have joined the club?

You beat the Patriots when it counts by running the Football and sound defense. “That being Said” We have Frank Gore and Drake?????? Facts: Tannehill is 0-6 in New England. Run Game required Patience from A coach.

The season is young and any team can beat another team. Go Fin!

      Truth.

This team needs even avg running lanes to thrive. The whole team feds off even a competent run game… especially Tannehill. I like Swanson in there. Kilgore was looking like Pouncey from Week 2 on. Kilgore was getting destroyed 3-5 times a game. This was having a watershed effect on the rest of the team. The Dolphins can’t repeat the yards before contact of last year. The loss of Sitton is huge, but they must play better or all is lost in 2018.

Sorry for the delay… rough week my wife’s Grandfather is at the end of a bad battle with cancer.

By now it’s beating a dead horse to say the Dolphins laid an egg. The embarrassment, the ridicule from the sports pundits, the low feeling, it has pretty much quieted down by now. As I said in a previous post, the keys to the game would be critical to have any chance at a win.

No turnovers or win the turnover battle-Nope
Establish the run and stick with it-not even close
Surgical strikes through the air utilizing the speed at WR-did not happen
No stupid penalties, must stay composed-see Tunsil
Convert 3rd downs and win the TOP-epic failure
Defense must sack Brady and limit Gronk-it would appear that Burke did not look at film of NE first 3 games

What happened instead was the team appeared to have not even gotten on the bus let alone gotten off. I was looking for a fight but instead saw them out muscled on both sides of the ball. I know it’s a long season and there will be time to fix some things, however, at this moment, it’s hard to be optimistic.

So I took a sip of the Kool-Aid…not a big one. I’m still optimistic this team will win a few games…maybe not this week. Go Dolphins!

I think 4 things were the issue: McCain was injured, Burke let Gronk off the line free, McCain is a liability, and the big elephant in the room 3-0 lead became 10-0 on the refs allowing the most obvious pick play go without a flag. When you watch the tape, you see it emboldened the Pats to be more aggressive… there were several obvious penalties that weren’t called. Home cooked refs were on call. Not to say it decided the game, but it was a piece of the puzzle. I’m wrapping up a film study on McMillan and then I’ll be watching Bengals tape around the clock. Not sure about a win or loss at this point. But, I do like Kilgore being replaced by Swanson. Kilgore had no strength for 3 weeks and was a big liability. We are still screwed because we lack blocking TE’s, we need help there desperately. We are also thin at CB and Wake missed the last 2 practices… I think there is plenty of hope left that this team can right itself after Week 4. Not saying the probalbility is high, but this team has potential if they decided to meet it this team can win. They are and have been their own worst enemy. The Bengals missing Eifret is big help for the Phins.

      Excellent summation BTW…

Recognizing that we got beat in the trenches is one thing what we do to make sure it doesn’t happen again is another. I am sorry to admit but we are a finesse team. Asiata is the only player we have that can knock someone off the ball but coaches can’t coach him to pass block for some reason ?? Cincy is physical too. I see another loss coming.

“Asiata is the only player we have that can knock someone off the ball but coaches can’t coach him to pass block for some reason”

I think Davis can as well. Asiata needs to play Right Guard in my opinion. I think Davis could play LG but he wouldn’t be as good. Davis is better than Asiata at RG or LG. Asiata needs to drop weight. The loss of Sitton made this team a lot more finesse. I like the play of Swanson and think it’s better than Kilgore. From being a lifter for 30 years now, I think the tricep was going for a few weeks. By Week 2 he was getting killed with power. I think Swanson stabilizes the line. Kilgore was the weakest link. Good enough to beat cincy? Don’t know. Going to watch there games this season to see what kinda’ team they are. This is a big game for sure, sir.
