Would Civil War In Miami Be A Good Thing

Is a Civil War brewing among the heads of the Dolphins?

Is a Civil War brewing among the heads of the Dolphins?

Civil War is internal strife that leads to one ruling faction being removed from power.

Was Adam Gase‘s decision to begin a roster overhaul not only an admission of rebuilding, but signs that Civil War is taking place between the Dolphins elite? And if it is, is this a good thing?

First, let’s nail down some facts bullet point style for brevity:

  1. Mike Tannenbaum wanted an experienced coach, but Ross pulled the Trump Card to his preference and chose Gase.
  2. Tannenbaum once again felt he had very good depth at the O-Line position going into the season.
  3. Gase didn’t “get” the media’s fixation on the offensive line.
  4. Gase chose Joseph which is in opposition to Tannenbaum’s preference to an experienced coach.
  5. Chris Grier and Tannenbaum have final say on player acquisition, but Gase has final say on player retention.
  6. Gase is in full support of Ryan Tannehill and places most of the blame on the O-Line play.
  7. This is the second year that Tannenbaum has been attached to failure to diagnose O-Line talent and brag about it (See Mathis last season).
  8. Tannenbaum is in his second season of control with a GM as a bulwark to protect him from full responsibility. It is also a second season where lack of talent and questionable decisions have been a focus of the season and its failures.
  9. Gase’s firing of Turner and Thomas is direct repudiation of Tannenbaum’s decisions.
  10. Gase is nothing if not aggressive, forthright, and unafraid of confrontation.
  11. Tannenbaum and Ross are friends.
  12. Ross owns the team, has final say, and is the one person who will remain standing.

Okay, doesn’t take an expert pay per head software to bet that the Miami power structure is getting antsy and friction is building.

Ross has got to be disappointed in Grier, Tannenbaum and Gase because he must be tired of being a joke and has invested heavily in the stadium.

Tannenbaum has got to be disappointed with Gase and Joseph because he built the team with the understanding that Gase would get the “O” to generate points and leads, and his “pass-rush” D he built would take advantage.

Gase has got to be disappointed in Tannenbaum and Grier because of their complete failure to  provided him with the tools to succeed — especially in the department of the O-Line.

If it is Civil War, then it’s Gase on one side and Tannenbaum on the other.

We know that Ross is not “disposable” and Grier and Joseph are the most disposable. That leaves Tannenbaum and Gase as the primary weights to the pendulum.

We haven’t heard from much of anything from Tannenbum.

Gase on the other hand has pressed that it’s a lack of Offense that is the primary reason for Joseph and his defense’s lack of production. He has further stated that Tannehill’s main issue for lack of production is the Offensive Line and with it the failures of the entire offense…and by association the whole team.

His statements lays the failure of 2016 square on the lap of Tannenbaum; and for Tannenbaum, this is three coaches who have levied the same charge despite Tannebaum’s belief he had taken care of the position.

I don’t know if Gase and Joseph are the “right coaches”. Honestly, I can’t even say with 100% certainty that Tannehill given a real “O” couldn’t be the guy or close to the guy. BUT, what I can say is that Tannenbaum has been terribly wrong two seasons running and has bragged about his decision prior to seeing that decision be a main reason for the Dolphins failure.

So for me, I side with Gase. But, the real question is who will Ross side with, and what will be the ultimate outcome if Civil War is actually taking place? What do you fellow Dolphins Fans think? Go Fins!!!

Fellow Fins fans, here is something to ponder while our season is already over, check out this link:

    http://draftwire.usatoday.com/2016/10/12/2017-nfl-mock-draft-updated-two-round-projections/

Notice that they have us picking third overall. That should tell us something about the remaining 11 games!!!

Not for nothing, I would take both picks as they predict!

Lets not write Gase off yet! We can’t keep firing/hiring coaches on a yearly basis. Remember; Billacheat was a Cleveland cast off after a few years, not that Gase is in that category, but our luck, he would get HC job somewhere else and thrive.

Ross needs to get a backbone and start to treat this franchise like he does his real estate ventures. Cut Throat, it is a business, not a friendly happy hour. Results or nothing! This is not on the coach, though he needs plenty of improvement at this point. We MUST as a franchise make the necessary moves to get one of the top two QBs in the ’17 draft and build the O-Line, period!!!! The O-Line could be bolstered w 2 guards via free agency, spend the money there first, and supplement after that. And, besides the first round pick, draft defense the rest of the “17 draft.

Pitt QB Perryman is ranked in the 7th round they are crazy. He can moved his team,

Def. not, Dunner. I think Gase though needs to do more to validate his hiring. It’s still early in his evaluation…but, so far, I haven’t been impressed with his gameday performance. Still like all the rest, but gameday trumps personality.

I have thrown the towel in on Gase already. Gase play calling is one dimensional and really nothing for opposing offenses or defenses to worry about other than they will have a record day for stats and fantasy football etc. against the Dolphins..

Watch Jimbo Fisher how he mixed up play calling and the execution of the offense and defense. Every team brings their A game to them. Gase continue to be one dimensional with his poorly executing spread offense that has no teeth.

Not to say that Gase does not have the ability to win it just remains to be seen.

QB Moore and Doughty are not the Answer. Tannehill will throw one or two interception a game and Matt Moore will certainly throw two a game. Doughty will just get murdered out there!

Miami Dolphins Need to Get Dan Marino Ready- Given the same power that John Elway has. Marino would ensure more so than Patton Manning us a supper Bowl Ring. Marino has unfinished Business with the Dolphins he does not want to go down in history without a ring. Marino would understand that his years lack a balance Run Game when Defensive have shut him down with A Solid Defense. Marino is Rooted with the Dolphins. Shula prime Marino Good and I doubt Marino allow John Elway to beat him are Bill a cheat.

Adam Gase is a Rookie Coach! What College has he lead to National Title? What NFL Team has he headed coach to a Super Win?, Jimbo Fisher! Irving Myer, Nick Saban. are Proven! Proven Nick just got the hell out Miami to go back to winning But all three understand a balance attack. What idiot would set back and pass every play! allowing his defense to rest less than 2 minutes off the Field. Good Luck Miami Dolphins!

We all have seen this before. Next a Rookie Coach will bring in Washed up Jay Cutler to Miami Dolphins. To take more sacks from holding the ball to long.

PLEASE!!! Don’t even breathe that into the air….I always disliked Cutler….that would be such a curse.

How many times can we Travel down this loser wrong road. It took the New Orleans Saints 32 years to win their first playoff game.

The two expansion teams of 1995 (Carolina and Jacksonville) played for their conference championship in their second years of existence.

    We need Experience Coaching!

Since the Carolina Panthers team began play in 1995, there have been four head coaches. The team’s first head coach, Dom Capers He won in his second year Divisional!

I just love myself some Tom Coughlin! He Coach Boston College used to give FSU (Bobby B.) Hell.

He was the Jaguars 1st coach and Coach team to win division championships in his second year 1998 and 1999. Tom Coughlin era (1995–2002)
the team totaling have qualified for the playoffs six times, most recently in 2007.

….Ross needs to hire either Manning or Marino and give them the same authority Elway has in Denver …I prefer Manning because I think he is a true football guru …but he snubbed us once before so it could be Marino who needs a SB ring to cement his career …just don’t know if he has the drive or desire

…I have zero faith in any of the top 4 in the fins management structure …if Ross does hire Manning or Marino, it must be unconditional control …if Gase stays, it must be because they want him, not because Ross wants him

…Gase was just as wrong as Tannenbaum about the OL ….and he is most likely just as wrong about TH …as I said, I have zero faith in his judgement at this point

…that aside, if its civil war, so be it …something needs to shake up this franchise from top to bottom
…I’m just not choosing either side …I want real change from the top down …and that means Ross must sell or give up control

…imnsho, the best thing that could happen to this team is to start next year with an all new owner/management team …hopefully with the likes of Manning or Marino running it

    • admin

I agree…I would just like to see someone on this current management team have a clue, prove it somehow this season and be the building block going forward…of course, at some point in my life I believed in Santa Claus….

    • admin

at least the Phins make it interesting in their disaster…Manning I bet would love to come back as a management level guy…

  • Dunner

I side with Gase, not so sure about Joseph. But, I do know that Tannebaum must go, period!

  • Dunner

It starts at the top (new GM, should have know, any Jets cast off is not a good thing here in Miami)…..
    New QB in ’17…….
Miami must make a Phiily move if needed to cement a QB via draft…….
A boat load of $ will be available in ’17 (due to release of several several players, yes big name players)…….
2 guards must be had via FA preferred (the top 2 young healthy guards, spend the $, just do it), save draft for defense…….
Ross must sell if moves are not taken……..
    Day Dream Believer………………

  • donald john incardona

Tannenbaum is the problem. he picked injury prone player, players that are not that good. it’s been 2 years with the fins and when with the jets he did the same thing. he never played foot ball and doesn’t understand. this is all his fault. and grier seems to be a yes man. these two need to go, period.

    • admin

I think his Mathis move and bragging about it and now his love of Miami’s line depth is the clearly the sinking of two seasons. He hasn’t done enough to warrant a future with Miami. Not sure about anything else, Donald. But, I am most sure that he isn’t a top GM.
