Can Pouncey Save the Day?

Can Pouncey’s return fix the Offensive Line woes?

The Miami Dolphins starting Center is expected to finally return to practice on Monday, after recovering from yet another hip injury. Mike Pouncey is in his 6th season in the league and has made the Pro Bowl 3 times. He has not always played like a Pro Bowl Center, however, he is by far the best center on the roster when you factor in experience and leadership. But, can his return stop the bleeding on the Offensive Line?

As the Center, Pouncey is in charge of calling the blocking assignments for his fellow lineman. This skill is a bit of a mystery for fans as it can’t be diagnosed on tape. But, despite the sapping of his talent through injuries, this aspect of his game should be at it’s peak. With his return to helming that responsibility, the Offensive line will undoubtedly receive a boost in cohesion.

The other thing that Pouncey can bring to this team is some leadership and tenacity. He is an out spoken young man and his teammates respect him for his desire and heart, something that this team is clearly missing at this moment. Most pay per head software gambling fans would agree that having a player like him back on the field can only help your team.

Although, will it be a deciding factor?

I simple answer to the question, “Do I think Pouncey is going to be a magical solution to all the Dolphins problems?” NO! The Dolphins have way too many issues to fix, and no one player can fix them all. However, maybe he can give this team a much needed spark and settle down the most important squad on the team. While Steen provides better physical attributes, maybe he was too green to run the calls and play stabilizing force to a unit that is still learning to work together? We will see this week what Pouncey actually means to the Dolphins franchise. It would be big for the Fins and for his legacy if he can help the Dolphins improve and get back on track in their next game against the Tennessee Titan team. Go Fins!!!

Wow…thanks for the great wake up news, Samson 🙂 Man, that hurts. At least he wasn’t one of the injury prone ones as to blame T-baum…but, unfortunately, maybe he will now enter that list…uuhhhggg. This will end up being a downgrade on the draft as he was a big piece of it.
