Imagine playing poker with someone who giggled like a schoolgirl on every good hand and grunted at every bad one. How hard would it be to take everything he has? This is how Bobby McCain plays his hand presnap and why Lamar Jackson made the Phins secondary go broke.

Conclusive video evidence will keep the “I’m grasping at straws” comments off the table. I’ll give you that sometimes I might fixate on the bright side… I’m a fan after all. But not on this one. And when you see the film, you’ll be in shock.
As a final preamble: The Free Saftey is the key to a quarterback deciphering the coverage scheme of a Cover 1, especially on the deep ball. If a quarterback knows the Single High Safety is coming down, then the potential for a deep throws success skyrockets. The amount of information McCain gives away is downright shameful.
IF McCain is calm or slightly aggitated he drops deep. Mildly agitated he is sitting. If he is going to a different zone, he tells you by creeping.

The Miami Dolphins were ripped every which way but loose after Week 1. Lamar Jackson became the greatest thing since sliced bread, Brian Flores was a tanker and liar with a team in revolt because the scheme and gameplan was garbage.
Maybe this will all end up the case, but McCain telling all presnap went a long, long way towards destroying the Phins opener.
McCain left his Single High duties about 8 times (give or take) in the game. Jackson threw deep on 3 of them for 2 T.D.s. Was he ultra lucky or a genius at his reads? Neither, McCain was an open book.

Presnap info is too valuable (and potent) to throw out there like this. Shame on the secondary coach for not fixing it earlier.
The Good & Bad News for Phins fans
Bad news first: If this jackass hack sports reporter can spend 20 minutes studying the film and pick this up, why didn’t the staff see it already? And imagine what a real staff can glean from film?! There’s a long chain of people who prep the tape and watch the practices for Miami from guys who cut the tape, to position coaches, coordinators, and fellow players. None noticed this.
So hard to imagine.

Preseason doesn’t allow All 20, so Bobby McCain was mostly off-camera until the Regular Season. The Ravens either saw this prior to the game as they get “All 22” film or spotted early on in the game. It’s mindboggling that this wasn’t spotted or corrected sooner as McCain must have been doing this since his transition to Safety.
But, if McCain (and Baker’s) ‘presnap reveals’ can be fixed, along with their leverage issues in the run game, this defense will take a big step towards getting right. If not, this staff is completely clueless.
