Bills & Dolphins Super Bowl Of Mortal Combat

turn

Fans get their joy from a season depending on their expectations. For some, that expectation is SuperBowl, or the playoffs, or a team that has an arrow pointing up and many are just happy to go see their team live a couple of times a year. Last season, I felt if the Fins could knock the Bills out of playoff contention, I would grade I could manage a smile amid a dismal season – the 90’s still haunt me, and I hate the Bills with a deep passion. So here we are again with implications that have season finality attached to it. This time though there is more in the kitty – we can crush the Bills and still find our way into the playoffs.

To be truthful the loss to the Patriots tore my heart out. I really didn’t expect them to win, but the flat effort (which on a short week and on the road is understandable) and the loss of Wake just stole my mojo. BUT, good ole’ hate has brought it back!!! We have a chance to send the Bills into a death spiral and get Rex fired and back to a stable boy shoveling manure. Think how sweet that would taste!

The Bills are on the verge of revolt, and the best football betting software they could easily toss in the towel by halftime if down by a large margin. We could be parting, and laughing, and sending mean and nasty messages to the Buffalo pitiful by the start of the third quarter. Ahhhh,  wouldn’t be sunshine in a can?!

We are wounded. We are down. We are limping into our next battle. BUT, there is still a lot of damage we can do and heights we can climb. Embrace the division rivalry. This week it’s the Bills & Dolphins Super Bowl of mortal combat. Let’s GO Fins and beat them so bad that next year they’ll get exiled to Canada!!

The model on how to punk these Fins was displayed to every team by Belicheat and Brady last Thursday. Load up the box, stop the run, pressure Tanny, and he’ll throw the ball to your guys.

Fins still cant run the ball against good D’s. The OL is the same poor ass OL or worse now due to injuries as when Phiblin was here. Without a consistent and dependable run game the Fins will continue to struggle on offense – and the Bills will punk our OL and Tanny.

As for our D, just too inconsistent to rely on being able to shut down anyone of quality, and the Bills are a quality team (see result of last game). We can’t blitz because we dont want to expose our midget DB’s in single coverage. We cant cover TE’s, and now we wont have the pass rush from Wake.

This looms as another gut punch to Campbell and the Fins.

    Bills 23
    Fins 13

My question is why are we not using Tanny like we did for a stretch last year very successfully and they are using Tyrod over in Buffalo? Where is the QB action and rollouts? Why the static dropbacks with such an athletic QB? I can understand it risks your QB, but in desperate game and times not using it is foolish.

This game squarely lies on Tanny’s shoulders. If he is going to be a difference maker, the way he is paid, the position he plays, then this is the time, the place, the opponent! If he looks anything like he did against the Pats, then I believe skeptics will start to increase, and rightfully so.

I understand there needs to be a winnable game plan, etc., and I will even give him a pass on last Thursdays game (the Pats can make everyone look like that), but not here, not now, not at this point of the season and this point of the schedule. They need to beat Buffalo to have any chance for playoffs and for Tanny to establish himself in the building. He needs to win over his teammates. Not that his teammates don’t believe in him, but another performance like last Thursdays and he will start to lose their trust/confidence.I know the game is about more than just Tanny, and maybe he shouldn’t receive this much pressure for 1 game. Sorry, but the pressure is real, fair or not!

This certainly is a very big game for the Phins. However, when it comes to Ryan Tannehill, it has been the tale of two quarterbacks. His record in Buffalo has been dismal. The pressure is on him to shake that monkey off his back and prove once and for all that he can win up there. I hope to see the quarterback that has the great rating and not the one with the 50’s rating. I hope to see the one that throws 2 or 3 TD passes and no INTs and not the one that can’t get out of his own way.
He has a lot of great qualities you look for in a franchise quarterback, but if you can’t win in your division on the road, then your many good intangibles are all for naught. If Tannehill can win in Buffalo on Sunday that will go a long way in convincing people he is worth the $96 million contract and a long way in helping to keep Dan Campbell as HC beyond 2015.
Go Phins but even more GO Tannehill.

yeah, he needs to step up his game at away games and big games. He has a chance to do both now…and he needs to, his leash is getting short.

Under Philbin & Coyle I would say Fins have no chance. But with Dan Campbell breathing down the players’ necks, anything is possible. Need to repay the Bills back for week 3!!

I think a fresh team has a good chance. Only thing that troubles me is they only seem to run from 3wides. Still think they will win!!!
