Up tempo?

sports gambling

Bill Lazor was brought in to replace Mike Sherman’s stale and boring offense, with a more exciting fast up-tempo offense. However, when the Dolphins faced the Bills this past Sunday the offense was constantly fighting the clock to get the ball off in time, which was the complete opposite of a fast up-tempo offense.

I was watching the Eagles game last night, and in the second half Foles and the Eagles offense was snapping the ball at lightning speed, and sprinting up and down the field, which was completely wearing out the Colts defense. This is the system and scheme that sports betting software like Ace Per Head  fans were expecting to see in Miami this season. Except for one drive in the Patriots game where the Dolphins used a hurry up offense, the phins offense has not even come close to looking like the lighting quick offense of the Eagles. I was actually shocked when I was watching the Dolphins offense against Buffalo, because it looked like Sherman was back calling the plays. When the Bills were completely smothering the Phins offense it seemed like the perfect time to start calling some no huddle plays to at least slow down the Bills attack, but Lazor never decided to increased the tempo.

I am hoping that as this season progresses the offense will begin to look more like the Eagles offense and less like the phins offense from last year. Another mystery from Lazor and this offense is that during training camp there was a lot more situations where Tannehill was using his legs to make plays, and through the first two games I have not seen Tannehill do much running at all. From an athletic standpoint Tannehill appears more productive with his legs than Foles, and I saw multiple plays in the Eagles game against the Colts where Foles made a play with his legs. Tannehill, Lazor, and the rest of the phins offense needs to start watching some film on the Eagles offense, and begin to incorporate that type of speed and execution into their plays.

After two games I would say we still have no clue what type of team we have, because the difference between the Pats and the Bills game is night and day. I would like to think the phins can be a team more like what they showcased against the Pats, however those type of teams do not go up to Buffalo and get embarrassed. It will be interesting to see if Jekyll or Hyde team comes to play this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs. At the very least, I hope that the phins offense begins to start picking up the tempo, and utilize the weapons they have, like we expected them to do this season.

You have to wonder if its Philbin applying the brakes to Lazors offense. When Philbin arrived he announced that his offense would be fast paced. Even practices were mirrored with him standing at the 50 yd line and each squad would run a play and all he did was turnaround and watch the next group run a play.

IMO, this regime (Philbin) is incapable of driving any real improvements on a consistent basis.

And I am beginning to lose faith in Tannehill. He could just get Philbin fired. Tanny is on a down streak, which began last year, through this preseason, and in these first two games.

He missed open receivers down field, and his accuracy is all over the place.

You cant win in today’s NFL with a QB like that.

The KC game will reveal much. If we see the same out of Tanny and the O, this team and regime is in trouble.

    You heard it hear first.
