Gase has stated that Joseph made the right call.

First, this isn’t an indictment on either Adam Gase or Vance Joseph. They have performed admirably getting the Dolphins to this point. But, while I have agreed on just about everything Gase has said or done, his statement on Joseph’s call on the 3rd & 7 that went for a touchdown being a ‘good one’ just doesn’t meet the eye test when you look at the tape.

True, Bacardi Rambo could have made that tackle, but that would have been long after a crucial first down was handed to the Pats on a silver platter said the pay per head bookie service. Going over the play and its design, there are far more fundamental issues bearing greater responsibility than a back-up Safety being expected to tackle one-on-one the best wide-out of the Pats. Here’s what I saw:

To me, this isn’t a ‘go-to’ play. Momentum was building for the Fins and this was a key play — touchdown or not. Would Miami’s opponent have scripted this same set of circumstances in such a crucial situation: Landry one-on-one with a back-up? The good thing is that this easily correctable. The staff has proven they learn from their mistakes. Go Fins!!!
