Shazier Moving up the Charts

With the 2014 draft drawing in closer, football gambling fans can feel the excitement and hope in the air for their respective teams. The Draft is a well orchestrated symphony, but often times there are players who are projected to be drafted very early in the first round, but instead drop like a stone, and then there are others who shoot up the draft boards like a rocket ship aimed at the moon. One such player that is seeing a rise into the stratospheric is Outside Linebacker Ryan Shazier from The Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is 6’1”, weighs 237 pounds and ran a 4.45 40, but some football gambling fans are saying he ran the 40 in 4.3s on his pro day. Originally Shazier (love the name, reminds of the infamous German word Sheisse) was projected to be a 2nd round pick, however he has added some weight to his frame in the off-season, and still was able to maintain his world class speed. There is a good probability that this young man is going to be selected in the back half of the first round. He is a known play-maker, and is always flying around the ball.

In 2013 Shazier tallied up a whopping 143 tackles with 22.5 tackles for a loss, 4 passes broken up, 4 forced fumbles and 6 sacks. In his sophomore season in 2012 he tallied 115 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, 1 interception, 11 passes broken up, 5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. This guy is an absolute menace on the field, and is constantly making game impacting plays. The only knock on him, is that he needs to get a little stronger at shedding blocks that are coming at him. However, it appears this off-season, that he has already begun showing his dedication to this, by adding on muscle and weight, hence a big reason why his stock is on the rise. Ohio State had a very good defense last year, and has quite a few players that are NFL ready, and if football gambling fans take the time to watch tape on Ohio State, one thing is for certain, Shazier jumps off the screen more than anyone else.

This would definitely be a dark horse pick for the Miami Dolphins, however, one thing can not be denied, this boy can play. On one of the better teams in college football, this young man was one of the best players, and he also plays at a position of high need for the Phins. Also, there is no question that he is a play-maker at his position, something the Dolphins definitely could use at the linebacker position. Lastly, it is impressive that he has addressed his main weakness in the off-season, and looks determined and hungry to prove himself in the NFL.
