This Friday the Miami Dolphins will travel to Atlanta and take on the Falcons to begin the 2014 Preseason. Even though the game will not count in the wins and losses columns for the regular season, it will still be a great chance to see the team on the field in real live playing situations. There is no need to get too high on good performances or too low on bad performances, but it will be a chance for the youngsters to get some game experience and a chance to make their claim to be included in the final 53 man roster.
Tannehill and the offense will realistically only be given one or two possessions to showcase Lazor’s new offense. It will be a thrill for the fans to finally see their boys on the field squaring off against another opponent, but that excitement must be curtailed because this is only a practice game, so reading too deeply into performances can cause emotional problems. The biggest thing to look at in this game is to see how the youngsters and depth players perform. A few players that I am excited to see get on the field and take some snaps are cornerback sophomores Davis, and Taylor, and rookies Landry, Turner, Fede and Tripp, and undrafted rookies, Williams, Johnson, and Hoskins. This is their chance to prove to the coaches that they deserve either a spot on the team or more playing time during the regular season.
