Old, Talented Men Coming Cheap

Once talented, Revis is old and in trouble
Once talented, Revis is old and in trouble.

Old might mean it’s Corner or bust, but maybe he can play Safety… maybe.

The Miami Dolphins are continuing to fine-tune their team, and have shown over the past few years that they have no issues with signing veterans that are in the twilight of their career. Sometimes these work out… and other times they don’t, just look at Mario Williams and Arian Foster.

Over the last few days, there has been some chatter that Miami should take a look at Darrelle Revis.

Revis is a free agent and former Pro Bowler who is in legal trouble and breaking down. There is no question that he can add value to a team… for the right price. Bargain basement anyone?

Most free bookie software fans are saying that Revis is not the same CB as he was when he was referred to as Revis Island… and they are right. So, as a result, many people are saying that to maximize Revis’ talent a team could move him to the Safety position… and we could use a cover safety. No? This is an interesting idea because it would make sense, however, it still would be something of a position change for a player that has played one position his entire career, so it may come with a learning curve and some bumps in the road.

No place for old men or does he have anything left?

But, wouldn’t it be nice to see him stick it to both the Pats and the Jest. I know this is a dream territory. What the heck…

The other issue of signing Revis is that he has always wanted to get paid throughout his career, so even though his market value has decreased, he may not want to accept that and play for a team like Miami that is looking for a bargain. Maybe Miami might have an interest in pairing a player like Revis at safety to pair with Jones, so it may be worth the question of how much Revis is looking to get paid?  If his monetary demands are reasonable than this might be an idea to toy with.

But, then of course he might end up in jail, so there’s that too.

In the end, the likelihood of Revis ending up with the Fins is slightly less than him playing at all. So, we’ll throw this one on the pile of wishes and prayers. The best pay per head review websites to follow.

      I’d love

      1. OG Lamp
2.. LB. TJ Watt or Jarrad Davis
      3. CB Rasul Douglass West VA.

Although, I might want a DE in the 3rd or DT or S — not sure of the value in that round, but those positions worry me.

    On another Note:

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is not being considered for a job. Kaepernick would be a great pick up for the Fins, He would come cheap, He did get his team to the Super Bowl. We cannot overlooked that QB’s get injured again? We have had 30 Plus QB’s no Super Bowl.

Let’s be real: Remember the Two Harbaugh brothers in the Super Bowl 47

    1. Did he robbed some one?
    2. Was he driving under the influence?
    3. Did he test positive for drugs’
    4. Was he involved in spousal abuse?

    * Can he help to contribute to the Dolphins? Yes! or No!

Unless Revis comes at a Bargain price. The risk assessment of having Revis could quickly turn into him being a liability for the Dolphins.

Signing veterans that are in the twilight of their career
In legal trouble and breaking down
    Might end up in jail
    Market value has decreased

It’s mostly a pipe dream… but stranger things have happened. I don’t think he will see the fieldthis year.

…we definitely need a S but think you’re reaching here unless he’s desperate to extend his career

…also think that if we sign Brown at LB then we’ll draft a S at 2/3 …this draft is deep at the position and the loss of AIQ hurt

That’s why I added this part at the end. 🙂
