Miami Groundhog Day

again

The Miami Dolphins loss yesterday to the Dallas Cowboys downgraded their miniscule chance to make the playoffs into an infinitesimal one. The defense came to play big early, but offensive mistakes sent the game into a nosedive and ultimately doomed any chance to salvage the game with a victory. What does the loss say about Miami Dolphins other than, “We suck”?!

The “Pick Six” is the fourth straight week that Tannehill has given the opposing team points and this time it may have cost more than just the game. This time Tannehill’s mistake may have just begin the “rebuild” mode…and with it, cost ALOT of people their jobs. This is not to say Tannehill didn’t have his moments, he did – as do the Dolphins nearly every loss. Tannehill’s pass to Landry and Stills were very good throws and teased of a comeback, but there wasn’t enough of them to overcome the adversity. This uneven nature of his has brought his career to the point where his future a tenuous one.

Productive QB’s are very difficult to come by and I am not saying dump him because there isn’t anyone and even with his mistakes, he resides in the bottom third o the league’s starting QB’s. But, the goal for a franchise is getting to the postseason and ultimately the championship and at this point of his career Tannehill, through his play, doesn’t appear good enough for even the best sportsbooks in the world to bet on him achieving those goals. Can he develop? Yes, Tanny could develop into a winning QB, but would a new regime be willing to invest their future in his play?

Again, we ended the day with few runs as we abandoned them early after so much success early. Again, 3rd and longs meant throwing short of the sticks. Again, special teams mistakes pinned us to our own goal. And again, coaching mistakes both in play calls and situational decisions aided in the defeat. But, the most crucial “again” was that Tanny couldn’t surround his mistakes with enough plays to pull out a win that was in desperate need…and that again may be the one that has the  largest impact.

Uhh…ladies…4-6 does most definitely suck. Tanny sucks too. If in doubt, refer back to W/L record since he became the starter.

    Thank you.

Saying the Dolphins suck is not very accurate. The offense has stopped improving. The offensive line remains a source of drive killing penalties. Tannehill can’t read defenses and has yet to master an accurate deep ball. Coach Lazor’s play calling has become predictable. Only the running game and running backs show any promise. The defense remains underachievers. The DL still gives the QB way too much time. The LB corps is pathetic. They take plays off, stay injured and let TE’s run rampant. No blitzing here! The secondary is either too short, too light or too late. Only Jones is having a Pro Bowl year. Last special teams looks pretty good when kicking but pedestrian when receiving!

Coach Campbell let us down with his punt rather than go for it at the end of the 4th quarter in the Dallas game. I thought Philbin was back out there coaching. This all sets the stage for the ex-Jets management team to hire Mangini as our next savior. He will blow up the team and start on a new 5-year plan. I can’t wait!

“we” don’t suck …neither does Tannehill, the jury is still out on him …the ones who REALLY SUCK are those in the front office who have failed repeatedly to find and nurture a home-grown offensive line …was there anyone in south Florida other than the Fin’s front office cabal who didn’t KNOW we had major OL problems …problems that for three years in a row had made our QB a setting duck for pass rushes …problems generating openings for a decent running game …problems AH HELL, why waste the bandwidth.

…ROSS handpicked the coach, the GM, and then the super duper GM who isn’t really the GM but really, really makes all the calls …and his call was to go with what we had on the OL …how has that worked out for everyone?

…we need a new Front Office …and most of all we need someone other than Ross “hand” picking them …but that isn’t going to happen is it …so we blame the QB who has never had a decent OL to play behind …hells bells, “decent” doesn’t even begin to cover it, now does it.

…stop blaming the offense …blame the guys who put this offense on the field …getting a new QB isn’t going to fix that …getting a new FO could …else we’ll be right back here next year crying in our beer again. one more season down the drain.

…please, please, please Ross …sell the team …no one could do a worse job “hand picking” a FO than you have.

Lemmus agree and I don’t think we “suck” – but I’d be willing to bet if Bellicheat was out coached we would be performing at a much higher level. It’s not a discredit to Campbell…the guy was given a very, very difficult task and has done as well as could be expected. We have pieces and we can win and be a decent team even with our limitations, BUT self inflicted wounds doom a marginal team and Tanny makes alot! Now he is still young and some of them are from Pouncy who has snapped terrible all year and Laz who calls mostly like garbage, and a line that took too long to be decent this season, and having a lack of running game to support him, BUT there is still a failing that goes beyond simple mechanics and stats with Tanny that appear to prevent him from becoming a top 10 QB. Now if we had built a team around a QB that wasn’t expected to be top 10 then that would be one thing. We could win with a non-stellar QB…but we are designed to have Tanny and his O put up lots of points and that hasn’t happened. If a legit top 10 was behind center our record would be much better….will Tanny become a top 10 I believed so, but little things like not seeing obvious blitzers and tunnel vision and demeanor is leading me to believe he might not. I hope he does…

agree. the thing is Tanny will never be a great QB. he will be decent at most, he does not know how to Audible (its been 4 years cmon now). when he does have time to throw he waits waaaaaaaaaay to long and then wonders why he is sacked. you can’t hold a ball for 8-10 seconds in this league no matter who your offensive line is. As for the running game, its there, but not when you’re front line couuldnt push a defensive line if their life depended on it. Tanny cannot lead this team, he is a backup quarterback and always will be. We need to invest in a QB not a man who just sits there and runs every play that he is told to do, who can’t read the defense for shit, and who has the worst tunnel vision i’ve ever seen. it’s time for big changes, and it starts at the QB. Also the defensive cant catch a run even if it was a cold. geez, all teams need to do is run on us, we are horrid, no LB’s and our secondary doesnt have a man over 6’1 lol we need big changes, but having Tanny behind the helm is not going to get us anywhere i don’t feel like waiting another 3 years for him to “grow” its been 4 years fuck outta here
