The Miami Dolphins Implosion Continues
Implosion could be said about nearly every aspect of the Dolphins organization.
Implosion: to collapse inward from external pressure; to become greatly reduced
You could sense an implosion was imminent once it was reported that Laremy Tunsil was injured just before the Miami Dolphins game against the Tennessee Titans.
I never would have expected this mega-mess before the season. I saw hope. I was so wrong. Now all I see is disaster.
The 2016 season has now added one more bad facet to this seasons’ Dolphins: bad luck.
As Don Shula once said, “Luck favors the prepared.”
The Dolphins get a big fat “F” on both fronts.
There were so many “IF’s” that this season was dependent on. Unbelievably, nearly all of them have turned into “Not’s”.
The offensive line, for all it’s boast of mega addition Tunsil, is actually worse than last year. And most stunning is the unbelievable occurrence that not even the best pay per head software sites would have predicted: 2016 Ja’Wuan James becoming the 2015 Jason Fox.
Fox was terrible, but he was a back-up and never very good, so expectations for him were never more than knee high. James on the other hand is a 1st round pick with a history (albeit a short one) of being “pretty good”, at the very least. That’s why James’ poor play is so surprising.
The implosion of the Dolphins is at every level and 2016 is looking like a 2007 repeat.
To say James’ season so far has been FUBAR would be a kind evaluation of his play. He has completely fallen apart and appears to be getting worse. Not only is he a major factor in sinking the season, but also in wasting a valuable pick…if his play can’t pick up and pick up big time.
For all Dennis Hickey did, this pick might end up being the one that justifies his firing.
But, Hickey is gone, and Adam Gase is here to bear the burden.
I want to absolve Gase, I really do. But, he’s the coach, and the buck stops at his door.
I now find myself asking a most fearful question: is Gase one of the “IF’s” that will reveal itself to be a “Not”?
Sunday’s game has me asking myself a whole host of questions that I really, really don’t want to ask. I’ve nearly made my mind up on several fronts, but it’s Gase and Joseph that still has yet to form — but, it’s getting close.
Yes, there are so many issues that are affecting the coaches ability to put out a good product. But, we aren’t talking about a tweak here or a tweak there. This is an irredeemable dumpster fire. We weren’t supposed to be watching an implosion. What a shame. Time to pray for a miracle. Go Fins!!!
…yeah, TH is not the answer and neither is Moore …I’ve been pushing for Doughty but I’d not have put him in this game behind that OL …suicide 101, they have got to be able to protect him first or they’ll ruin him before he has a chance …or get him hospitalized, one or the other
…of course, I can’t think of ANY QB I’d want to put behind this OL 🙁
….and the QB draft is a crap shoot …remember Ryan Leaf …it was 50-50 between him and Manning as to who would go first …hindsight is such a wonderful thing …but with Miami’s record, we’d take Leaf 99 times out of 100
…speaking of Manning …kind of grinds on me that he was available but wouldn’t even talk to us except as a personal favor to Marino …guy knew what he would be getting into here …wonder if Ross has the cojones to break the bank for him as the new GM/God here …just dreaming …anything to avoid the nightmare reality that the fins are right now

Yeah, at this point I dont trust A) Tannenbaum to find a QB or Gase to coach ’em…not saying this IS the case, but so far it appears to be. Hope the miracle turnaround begins soon…
Misi has played his last game as a dolphin.
2017 first overall pick will be determined Nov.27. Like the 49ers chances there, they have a defense and we can’t score….. doomed!!!
Enough w Tannehill……. It has been everybody else’s fault but his since he came here. Everyone gets fired but Tannehill. He is a career backup at best and he is being paid 20 million/per (leave it to us to pay him that). I believe that he doesn’t get replaced by Moore at this point, Moore is not the future. However; if they start Doughty this Sunday, or any Sunday, I’d be all for it. 20 million dollar QBs make everyone better, they figure out how to adjust to a bad oline or good oline, bad WRs good WRs, they lead, they mentor, they teach, they inspire, he NEVER has, NEVER will.
I believe there are several issues, BUT until they rid themselves of Tannehill, this is what we are going to be. Almost certain this is his last season in Miami (thank goodness).
Play calling doesn’t help, Joseph is clueless right now. yesterday’s Oline was atrocious, but it has always been this way w Tannehill. So, its not his fault, maybe not, but he has NEVER lifted the deficient areas to overcome.
Anyone can say whatever they want; Oline, defense, no running game, hogwash, doomed till Tannehill is gone.
Time to start researching the 17′ draft class QBs.
Props to little man Grant, to bad Tanny couldn’t build on the Rookie making a play, that because Tanny never makes a play, that ultimately matters. Doomed till the day!!!
I think with T-Hill he will be successful somewhere at some point. Not top ten, but functional. Just with this situation they are asking him to be top 10 and that isn’t flying. Kid needs to be a piece of the puzzle with a good run game. MAriota sucks alot worse, but he is supported. Dolphins keep trying to fit a square peg in a round hole….
I’m sorry Admin., I must disagree, Tannehill never be a starter (shouldn’t), he has no pocket presence what so ever. Unlike Gase, I do not believe pocket presence is something that can be taught. Think Marino’s coaches worked on his pocket presence (one of the best awareness ever), his 2 step here or slide there were what he was. Tannehill is what he is and he is 10x faster/quicker than Marino ever was, still Marino was 100x more aware and able to avoid pressure his entire career. Oh yea, without a running game either. Tannehill is done in Miami hopefully!!!
well look at it this way, until this year he has hovered around 20th rank QB in the league with a terrible line and limited run game. If he had a very good line and running game…say like Mariota and was asked to do as little has he does, I see him at least being around 20 if not a bit better. At least 10 teams in this league would like to have that. That is my point. But what the heck do I know…I thought Gase would straighten things out….

As Michael said why did we not move Bushrod over to left tackle, Turner has never played tackle as far as I know anyways, but Bushrod was a Pro Bowl tackle and we put a guy who can barely play guard in the most important roll on the offensive line.
Speaking of offensive our offense was about as offensive as you can get, I did not believe we would be this bad, I figured it would be a tough year for our Phins but I also thought we would see significant improvement as the year went on.
Good thing the Browns beat themselves or we would go winless this year.
Last, can someone please tell me why, when it’s 3rd down and maybe a 1/2 – a yard to go and we are averaging at the time over 4 yards a carry we throw the fricken ball and of course it gets tipped and we punt????

Coaching is affecting to many Dolphins Players. We cannot beat the worst teams. So that makes us 32nd in Offense and Defense.
I believed that the Miami Dolphins Owner, Coach and Management are afraid of Success!
I actually think Joseph is coaching worse than Gase..sad to say.
I was so surprised Bushrod didn’t move….Gase said it was because he hadn’t played tackle all year, but he had played tackle his whole career– are the abysmal failure, his decision doesn’t resonate…not in the least. That pass….ohhh that pass. T-Hill can’t change delivery and stares down receivers…and those are weakness’ that are likely never to be fixed….
….hard to believe we have another Cameron on our hands …but yesterday ….yesterday sucked ….at every level …and that, that has to be laid at the feet of the coaching
…I expected 1-3, wasn’t going to be surprised if we went 1-4, even 1-5
…what I didn’t expect is what we all saw yesterday …but for a punt return and a missed tackle on Ajayi, we laid a goose egg …we didn’t look like we belonged on our own turf …imnsho, the ‘canes could have beaten the team we fielded yesterday …and yes, I’m serious, we were that bad …another 1-3 team just flat out humiliated us on our home field …they ran through us, over us, and around us …their QB had more yards on the ground than our entire offense …and when they got bored, they made our DBs look like scarecrows …just for a change of pace
…yes, Albert and Tunsil were injured …this is the NFL, it happens …your backups step up …or not
…so the OL sucked …big time
…most coaches make the best of what they have, change the game plan to match the players on the field …I didn’t see that happen yesterday
…the run defense …the alleged run defense …five games in and if anything, they were worse than the first 4 …and that took some effort, eh
…our vaunted DL was a non-factor all day …Mariota was able to key on Jones …where Jones went, Mariota went elsewhere, untouched, unpressured, all the time he needed, and gaping holes to run through almost at will …and Joseph just seemed lost …unable to match anything their offense threw at him
…I went into this season saying that we would have a bad start …but by game five Gase would get it together …game five was yesterday …and there was no sign of this team getting anything together …not even close
…I’m a fins fan …will die one …but yesterday …yesterday it was hard …and today isn’t any better 🙁
That to me was the foundation of the season: Gase. If that corner stone was in place I could be patient and accept a T-Hill let down, a losing season, and even a GM changes. With one key immovable object all the flux would have been acceptable. IF Gase is another transient piece then…then that would just plain suck and would likely be the death blow to the remainder of this decade. And that would suck even more…hope Gase steps up because this team is a shambles and on par with Philbin’s teams…and even he and they weren’t this bad, this consistently.
Your right. At least Philbin’s teams mixed in a good game once in awhile. Not this regime, this team, at all in the 2016 season.
