Merry Christmas: Fins No Longer Same Ole’ Team

Merry Christmas: the Miami Dolphins are the real deal.

Merry Christmas: the Miami Dolphins are the real deal.

The Dolphins wanted to say Merry Christmas to their fans with a big win over the Bills.

I was chomping on my nails through 3 quarters and the overtime. Heck, my wife had to hide her fingers from my chattering teeth. But, with less than a minuet left in over-time, the Buffalo Bills were beaten, giving a very Merry Christmas to the Dolphins franchise and its fans.

The Miami Dolphins are now 10-6, looking at a 92% to make the playoffs, and have proven they are a truly a franchise on the rise.

Is there any doubt left from the Dolphins faithful that this team ain’t same ole’, same ole’?! It’s been a long ride with the miserly Grinch, I know; but, these new Dolphins have the heart of ten Grinches plus two!

They might lack talent in certain areas; they might need maturation in others – even some coaching decision scream rookie: but, the one area they don’t need one damn drop of improvement in is heart!

These 2016 Dolphins don’t quit and fight like wildcats in the clutch.

Merry Christmas: Rex is getting canned, Fins are 10-6 and near a lock for the post season.

This is one triumphant season we are watching Fin Fans, because the Dolphins have beaten even the best pay per head sites this year.

Yes, they are over-achievers. But, I wouldn’t put any limit of success on a team with this kind of heart.

They are beat up and riddled with injuries, but next man up has kept the win total rising. Now, going into their last game of the season, at home against the Patriots, they have a chance to secure the playoffs with a 100% certainty, beat up their division rivals, and go 11-5!

Say what!!!

Patriots will be coming to town looking to wrap up the top seed by staying ahead of the Oakland Raiders. Unlike last year, they will come will all guns firing. But, just like last year, the Dolphins will be waiting. 10-6 is excellent, but 11-5 sounds even better — why not? Time to dream big or go home. Go Fins and Merry Christmas!!!

The Patriots always have problems with the Miami Dolphins and the Dolphins have proved they can beat any team in the NFL. No game is a given and the season is not over for our Dolphins.

The Key to beating the Patriots defensively is to press the receiver to throw off their timing and Sack Brady along with better tackling.

Steve, I think Qb’s that are immobile suit this defense. I do think they have a solid shot to make this a game going into the 4th qtr — and then from there, they can do their thing.

…Wake hasn’t played against Brady this year …and knows this could be his last shot at a ring …if he doesn’t get to Brady it will be because they double team him every time …and if they double team both him and Suh …hello 🙂

…I’d rather they go through NE …this time AND next time …this team has been so disrespected for so long …putting the Pats to rest would light a volcano under the NFL news hierarchy’s butts

…and don’t count the Chargers out just yet …the Browns loss was an embarrassment that they could exorcise with a win over KC

Lemmus, I my heart might not survive beating the Pats two more times this season…it would be epic plus. But, as I fade from this world with the huge smile on my face, I might say it’s worth it 🙂 Hyperbole, yes — but, they say they are close to reversing death….so, in theory, I could come back with a decade or so of good tape to watch and break down.

Must win and Chiefs must lose to Chargers. Then and only then we get the #5 seed.

The 5 seed is so compelling, not just to go to Houston opposed to Pitts, it would be because of the following game should win the first one. I would much rather go to Oakland (minus Carr) opposed to New England. That to me is much easier then Beating Pitts and having to go to N.E.

Hey, we are in, only 11 other teams can say that, only 5 others in the AFC.

    J-Train rolls on…. HOOT!!! HOOT!!!

yup…Don’t think Chiefs will lose though. Glad Miami must play all out. It’s good for them to never stop competing.

Does anybody know probabilities of who we play in win/lose to Pats scenarios? I’d much rather play the Texans than Steelers on our first game in WC.

Also, one thing that irks me is that the Fins get virtually no coverage nor props from NFL Network. J Ajayi runs for over 200 in 3 games and very little is featured on that network.

If Dolphins and Chiefs have the same record, Miami win due to a to head-to-head competition advantage and would play the Texans. So, if KC loses and Miami wins they get 5th seed, they play at 4pm along with the rest of the relevant teams, so Pats and Fins will play all out this week. Yeah, Miami is getting hosed — it’s a trend for all season. Dolphins keep winning and lots more crow will be swallowed.

Meant one of 6 AFC teams and one of 12 NFL teams to make the dance!!

    Still over excited.

I’ve a Dolphins fan from the time I started understanding and actually watching football. My first real understanding and huge disappointment was the Washington Super Bowl. Boy seems like yesterday when Riggins broke the 2 tackles on his way to a game clinching TD. Or was it Joe Thiesamn Knocking the ball out of one of the the killer “B’s” (Baumhower) which would have been a pick 6 and another Super Bowl victory. I was spoiled early on, making the playoffs every year, having the best QB for so many years.

This run has been amazing. We have won in so many different ways, so many different players. Over come so many injuries. First and second year players growing up in a hurry. How can you not be excited about the future of this team. Imagine having Pouncey at center and Jones at safety??? How about a couple LBers to team up w Kiko??? Leagues second youngest roster. WOW, you can believe that the league has been put on notice.

Interested to see how the game, players, game plan, playing time, etc is handled this week vs the Pats? I would like to rest as many players as possible. But, would that send the wrong message, after all you have talked about focusing on the next opponent. Would like to head to either Pitts/Houston.

Most likely heading to Pittsburgh. Have beat them, they can score, weather could play a difference.

Congrts Ross, Gase, staff, players and us Fin fans. Been a long time coming, not just the playoffs, but a real franchise once again, a real head coach again.

Remember the day following the Tennessee game??? We were all very critical, and justifiably so. Yet, here we are, one of 12 AFC teams to make the dance. Playoffs bound even before week 17. Can’t explain it.

PLAYOFF BOUND. Repeat it, PLAYOFFS! PLAYOFFS! PLAYOFFS!

The J-Train Rolls on. HOOT!!! HOOT!!!

    Merry Christmas Cameron Wake 🙂 🙂 🙂

ohh man I remember crying my eyes out when Riggins made that run. Yea, that was my first strong memory of the Dolphins. Everything prior is glimpses. But, I remember that one quite well, unfortunately. And yes, for all Ross’ knocking, it was Ross who made the call and over-rided Tannenbaum who wanted an experienced coach. Ross is the guy who is responsible for Gase…so hats off and it’s time to turn the page on that one as well. Ross done good.

Playoffs? I did not think it would happen this season. I am one happy Phins fan. It’s been a long time coming but here we are. Great feeling.
So to all you Dolphins fans who endured all the lean years and hung in there, we have finally been rewarded for our patience.
    Go Dolphins!

I thought there was an outside shot in Preseason, but I obvious down graded them by game 5. They have made an unbelievable charge to get to this point. Not sure yet about their chances in the first round, this game against the Pats will show how they play at the highest level against top competition. But, if they make a strong showing, it will be great mojo for the off season. Whatever happens, they have over come massive obstacles and this will go down as very memorable season in Dolphins lore.

  • Lemmus

…been a fan from the day of their first game …lot of highs, lot of lows …this last few years has been bad …almost lost hope …almost

…but it looks like Ross finally got his act together …win or lose next Sunday, this has been the best year in waaaaay too long … from the lowest of lows when we damn near lost to the Browns and went 1-4, to the heart clutching overtime of yesterday …what a ride!!!!!!

…and yes Dunner, the J-train is real …three 200 yd games in a season don’t happen by luck …can’t wait to see him run behind a real OL …and yeah, you’re going to hear me screaming for guards in FA and/or the draft …hard to believe how many years I’ve been preaching that mantra 😎

Had my doubts. Certainly was on the edge of my seat this whole game. But…..our beloved Phins came thru once again.
Don’t wake me up because I must be dreaming. Playoffs! Wow! Didn’t expect it. Was only hoping for improvement and a winning season. But look, we may actually make it into the post season.
I’ve been a part of the Shula era. My son was not. He was part of 11-5 in 2008 when he was 11, but since then he has not seen a winning season let alone the playoffs.
Now we have a real coach, a running back, a good QB and backup. Dolphins on the rise. Only gets better.

Yeah, I’m sort of in the same boat…married 13 yrs — wife got into football when she married me. She lasted until the 1-15 season. Your son will get some good years. Too many positive factors for this to be a mirage. Glad we Fin fans are getting a good Christmas present from our team for a change — I expect it to be a regular thing going forward, Fritz!!!
