There is only one more preseason game left until the regular season starts. And the Miami Dolphins are going to be more interested in getting healthy then in winning against the Tampa Bucs on Thursday night at 7pm. Sure it is always nice to win, but most of the starters will be inactive for the game, and it will really about one last dress rehearsal for players that are on the bubble of making the roster.

Last week, the Dolphins received a little bit of a scare when Mike Pouncey left the game due to a knee injury. However, Pouncy’s MRI tests this week came back negative, and he will be ready to play week one against Washington. This should be a lesson learned for this week’s game: every extra snap can bring about disaster, so limit every snap you can.

ESPN recently reported that Branden Albert would not be able to play until at least the 3rd game of the season. However, when Albert was questioned by the media, he almost laughed because it was news to him. He has been steadily increasing reps during practice, and he seems to be more likely a day to day decision. Obviously, Albert is our best offensive lineman and the glue that keeps that unit together, so we need him to be healthy for the entire season. If there is any question regarding his health, then the wise sports betting strategy would be to not rush him back into the lineup until he is a 100% healthy. It is a long grueling season, and it is more important to have Albert be able to contribute in the later part of the season, when the games are even more crucial.

DeVante Parker is beginning to practice at full strength. If you looked closely on the side lines of the Atlanta Falcons game, then you would have seen that he was actually fully suited up for the game. It will be interesting to see if Philbin decides to let him play a few snaps against the Bucs on Thursday. Philbin says that Parker has been practicing well, but just needs to get his timing back up to speed after such a long layoff. If Parker is healthy, I would try to get him a few snaps, just so he can get a little better feeling for the NFL game speed. Luckily for the Dolphins they are loaded at wide receiver, so even if Parker can not start the season in Washington, there is no rush because there are plenty of other players in that unit that can step up.

Lastly, Jamar Taylor who suffered a quad injury in the Carolina Panthers game has not been able to practice since, and the team has been pretty hush-hush about the severity of it. Taylor has been the front runner to start as the cornerback opposite of Brent Grimes. However, he has a history of being injured and is once again losing precious practice time due to injury. Fortunately, his quad injury does not “appear” to be too serious, but could be something that will force him to miss the season opener.

With fingers tightly crossed, Miami can hopefully get through the next 2 weeks without any more injuries and the players who are recuperating can use this time to get healthy and back into football shape. What does the rest of the Miami Dolphins News fans think about the current health situation of the team?
