It’s Critical Dolphins Counter Patriots Signing

IMG_223DOLPHINS0908_ROB__2_1_2D2VIP7E_L74305622

Miami Dolphins need a linebacker who can cover the Patriot’s tight ends, Gronkowski and Bennett.

Dolphins must get a linebacker to counter Patriots signing.

The acquisition of Martellus Bennett has forced the AFCE – the AFC as a whole actually – to go on high alert with their coverage schemes and concepts. The need in Miami for at least one good coverage linebacker, if not two, hasn’t been this high since 2007

Myles Jack skyrocketing stock has been given nitro.

Forget about Misi, Vigil, Alonso is a big, fat question mark…you can count on Jenkins – a little. In actuality, there isn’t even one good, dependable cover LB on the current roster.

Miami used Reshad Jones with great success against Gronkowski in last year’s home game. Maybe Quddus can bolster it some more.

But, you can’t expect your “over” help to all come down to stop the two potent TE’s – if you actually want to win. That’s why someone in the box must be the man to take up the task – on at least one of the threats.

Not even the best sportsbooks would bet on this, but Miami might be: Dion Jordan.

Yup, it’s a long, long shot. Yup, he’s one strike from being gone for good. Yup, he’s “not been” staying in shape. Yup, they haven’t talked to him in a year. But, at this point, he’s the only player they have…well, sort of have. It speaks a little bit to the rationale of acquiring Alonso who is good friends with Jordan and played with him in Oregon. While Miami isn’t allowed to communicate with Jordan, Alonso can. It sounds thin, I know. It sounds thin because it is thin.

That’s why Miami strategy come draft day may have taken a hit.

Tannenbaum must be reconsidering his strategy for the 2016 NFL Draft

Maybe they are regretting trading back now? Maybe they are changing their minds on who to take at #13? Maybe the Dolphins are feeling like the boy with not enough fingers to stick in the bursting dyke? They could use a Running Back, one, if not two, Cornerback’s are desperately needed, but not nearly needed as much as Guards – and for comfort’s sake can we get two? Then there is Linebacker position which is now approaching the same ballpark as Miami’s need for O-line help. Problem is the Dolphins only have one pick in the first round.

Tannenbaum has his work cut out for him. He needs to hit on high-end talent positions in the later rounds where it becomes increasingly more difficult with each successive round. He has had most of his success on defensive and offensive line players. The time for that trend to reboot is now…and he’d better find a good cover linebacker this season – to go along with those guards, cornerback and running back – or Miami will look like Swiss cheese in there games against the Patriots. Go Fins!!

LMFAO! Dion drug-addict-Jordan cover Gronk?? Only here do you read this stupidity.

Sure, Tannenbaum will fix all the holes he’s created , sure.

    Can you say 7-9? Again.

This roster is a freaking joke. No OL, no RB, no TE, no CB, no LBers, only 1 safety, and a flailing QB.

    Actually 7-9 is optimistic.

No need to panic Base on the Dolphins draft order they would have their choice of ILB etc. Sample Who’s in reach and most value for that pick.

1st round Just trade again day of draft ?????

2nd Round Day of draft if they trade again still would be in reach of
Offensive Guard: Vadal rank # 2 Guard

3rd Round Hankenberg Ranked 5th QB or Alex Collins RB ranked 5th RB

4th Round Tyler Matakevich ILB ranked 4th best ILB

5th Round Scooby Wright ILB Ranked 6th Best or Cardale Jones Ranked 7th QB

6th Round KJ Dillon Strong Safety ranked 6th best SS

7th Round Jared Norris ILB ranked 8th Best

      XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxxxx

If the Fins are successful trading out again should get 2 or 3 extra picks and a shot at:

Possible Extra picks: Ranked on their position 1 thru 8th

4th rounder with best value 104th Kenyan Drake RB 8th best RB

5th rounder with best value 146 Glenn Gronkowski FB ranked # 1 best

First Jordan covered Dez Bryant and last year Calvin Johnson on the 60yard deep play. He has the talent to cover, another crap place where they speak of this..one of many. http://www.thephinsider.com/2015/3/23/8278141/the-curious-case-of-dion-jordan-defensive-end-or-linebacker

Grow up, learn to have a discussion, and stop being a vampire draining life from others.

We kept blaming Philbin all the time when it is now starting to become apparent that the bigger problem we have is Tannebaum
His ego or his arrogance and disdain for the obvious is bringing down this team
Why Why did we not even call Mathis agent again this year
It was bad enough last year when he bragged that he never even called Mathis agent but this year ……….. What the hell is wrong with you Mr Tannebaum ??? Why did you not sign a true guard this offseason We have what 29 million in cap space and no true guards
Now you burden this team with having to use a high pick on a guard just to protect Tannehill and give him the proper time to find our stud receivers
With all the other needs that we have this year it is unacceptable not to have signed a Guard in free agency
What the hell is our GM doing ?? Did he participate or is he just watching ??
I feel like we are going backwards not forward
Someone said we are looking at 8-8
Boy we will be lucky as hell to make it to 8-8
I predict that we will be worse than 2015
    So 5-11 maybe at best
Of course we havent had the draft yet and we might hit 3 homeruns in the draft maybe 4 starters ?? I hope so
But to put ourselves in a situation where we need 3 home runs in the draft just to be competitive is a horrible plan
It all rests in our egomaniac executive VP Tannebaum
Lets see how the draft goes
A very frustrated fan and season ticket holder

Ralph, the likely hood is you might be correct…chances are high. BUT, if Gase is a good coach that alone will net this team more wins than that. Not saying Gase is one. But, stick Arians, Bellichick, Reed, Payton, Coughlin, any good coach and staff with a good, flexible gameplan and you have a solid team. That hasn’t been here since Jimmy and he has crap gameplans. It ultimately will come down to Tannenbaum and the talent he brings, but short term it will be coaches and staff. Gase will be better than Philbin or Campbell…Philbin because he isn’t terrorfied of hos own shadow and is intelligent and Campbell because he has more experience at higher levels of coaching and has an off season to prepare. The loss of Miller is the only real difference. Matthews is offset by Parker, Vernon by Mario who is a better end when motivated. So at the very least it will be a season around the same as last year, but the opportunity exists for more depending on the remainder of FA and the Draft, plus how well or poorly Gase coaches / calls games. The schedule is harder this year, but overall I feel there is a strong chance that Miami won’t beat themselves..and regardless of the record (unless abysmal) that is encouraging.
