Going No where Fast:Positives and Negatives of Week 3

football gambling

The Dolphins are now 1-2 and their season is quickly slipping away. If the Dolphins can not find a way to turn this ship around fast, then Philbin will most likely be gone, with Tannehill most likely benched and the Dolphins organization searching for yet another QB and coach to help them rebuild. It is very sad because there is some definite talent on this team, however there is too much sloppiness to overcome. The Dolphins are leading the league with the highest paid group of receivers and in drop passes, and the defense is still having problems with the basics, such as tackling.

If the coaching staff and the players can not figure out how to correct these basic football skills, then this team looks doomed for another mediocre season, where they miss the playoffs, and are not bad enough to warrant a top pick in the upcoming draft. They just finished another dismal game where they got embarrassed by an 0-2 team at home, that had multiple starters sidelined with injuries. The defense played well for most of the game, however their run defense wore down and got shredded by a second string running back for 132 yards and could not cover McKnight coming out of the flat in the passing game. The offense came out flat once again, and continued to allow pressure on Tannehill. In addition Tannehill and his receivers appear to be on two different play books, because there were multiple miss-communications. All sports betting software like Ace Per Head fans know that Tannehill has issues with his deep ball, but now it appears he has problems throwing quick slant passes and in the flat passes. I have always been a big supporter of Tannehill, however so far this season he has regressed and if he can’t figure it out soon, then it’s time to put Matt Moore in, and start scouting QB’s to draft for the upcoming 2015 draft.

Three positive things were that youngsters Lamar Miller, Jelani Jenkins, and Jarvis Landry all played well. Miller had multiple runs where he exhibited his quick burst, and on only 15 carries he was able to rush for 108 yards with a 7.2 yards per carry average. Since Jenkins has come in off the bench, he has been very active at the linebacker spot, and lead the team with 15 tackles, 11 solo tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 tackle for a loss and 2 QB hits. He has really stepped up, and looks like he has a promising young career ahead of him. Landry made a couple of clutch first down catches, and had a stellar kick return average of 34.8 yards, helped by his 74 yard return that he nearly took to the house. All three youngsters seem to get better when they get more opportunities in the game.

The Dolphins need to get back on track soon before this season becomes a lost cause. Either a trip to London against the win less Raiders will help do the trick, or it will be the beginning of the end for this team. The Phins are 1-2, and now with their backs against the wall they need to show some heart and pride and turn this season around. There are lots of playoff teams from last season that are also 1-2 such as the Packers, Saints, 49ers, Colts and Chiefs, so it is not full-fledge panic mode yet, unless they lose to Oakland.

This team was not deep at the beginning of the season. We knew some or our new players had injury issues. These injuries and those suspensions have us behind the 8-ball. To make matters worse, Tannehill has flopped. The Dolphins needed to many new players to get it done in one season. Now we must wait for Philbin to be fired and another new regime to be installed.

Not sure I agree with you with the depth. Again, this team has the most talent on the roster than it has had in many many years. It could all start with Tanny, which doesn’t look promising at this point.
Can you explain why any team especially this one would have not only their best pass rusher but very possibly the leagues best pass rusher drop in coverage at a key moment in the game, when they were in pass mode??? REALLY!!! Again, it goes back to X’s and O”s, and each game the scheme seems to be more and more in question, regardless of Tanny. There is talent on this team, no excuse for the staff.

Yeah the talent is definitely higher then in years past and I agree the underlining issue is the coaching staff

The win over the Pats is a “false positive”. The fact of the matter is that Philbin is not qualified to be a HC. Ross continues allow first timers to be hired in critical positions and this is showing up on the field. Game management, scheme, personnel decisions etc are all questionable at best.

This is what you get when you go cheap with hiring executives.

I laugh everytime I see all the empty orange seats, and wonder if Ross even cares.

As far as Im concerned, Im not, nor have I, purchased a ticket in a long while, nor will I in the future.

As for Tannehill, he is what we all thought he was…a WR-playing-QB-long term-project-that-isnt-working out- in- the- NFL.

I don’t think Ross is cheap, I just don’t think any worthwhile candidates would want to work for the Dolphins…similarly, top notch FAs avoid coming down to Miami as well. And while this might not absolve Ross of being buffoonish, I don’t think he is cheap.

Yeah he has actually spent a lot of money on this team, last year he was one of the biggest spenders in the off-season. And he spent a lot of money on Brandon Marshall

I am so so so sick of this same scenario; Tanny very inconsistent (the one deep ball he threw, my 10 year old son could have thrown that, and I am not exaggerating), defense can not play a complete game or half or quarter for the matter, O-line=it what it is, and it seems there is progress in this dept., with our best lineman coming back.
I am truly starting to think that it is about the X’s & O’s/schemes with this team. Been a die hard Dolphin fan since Marino days, and this team has more talent than it has ever had, and that means only one thing, the coaching staff must adjust or see themselves to the door. Sorry, I have been a Philbin fan, as well as Coyle (could care less if he goes or not). However; the talent is there, and if this coaching staff can not figure this out soon, another house cleaning will be forth coming, Philbin, Coyle, Tanny and all!!!
Time for the staff to WALK THE WALK, tired of hearing about we’ve got to get better at this or that. Sure the coaches can only lead the team to the water, the rest is on the players, HOWEVER, this staff has not shown that it knows where the water is. They have better find the water soon, mirage or not, the water is the only saving grace.
Lose to Oakland and we can see Moore in week 6, lose to Oakland and we will have another top 5-7 pick, not close enough for a franchise QB. I believe Hickey has done his part, and this team will be in good salary cap shape next year after the release of top 2 LBers.

say what you will I’m out! I don’t think they will beat the Raiders either.

So many people say that…”I’m done with this team”. Hey, life isn’t always fair. I KNOW deep down I’ll never see certain teams I root for win their respective championships. Yup, I’m talking about the Dolphins, as well as other teams I have in mind. But I couldn’t stop rooting for them if I tried. Thats just the way it is and should be. So go root for the Broncos or Steelers or even the Patriots. See where that gets ya in life.

I agree I have been one of those people, to say im done with this team, but that is mere frustration because I am a phins fan through and through and unfortunately will have to deal with the constant disappointments because I will never turn my back on the phins
