Amazing Win Should Galvanize Dolphins Faithful

This Amazing win IS the turn point for the Dolphins franchise and their fans.

This Amazing win IS the turn point for the Dolphins franchise and their fans.

Miami’s amazing win has opened a new and uplifting chapter to its storied franchise.

Out of the stormy seas of a disastrous 55 mins, the Miami Dolphins burst from the troubled waters, racing to 14 points in five minuets in a shocking come-from-behind win against the Rams.

It was a victory that was amazing on so many levels.

Miami’s ability to overcome adversity, kicked up several notches due to the injury of Laremy Tunsil, added a stark highlight to the elite level of fortitude and will that this 2016 Dolphins team possess.

The last time I remember feeling that kind of unexpected exhilaration due an unbelievable turn-around was when Dan Marino was throwing the ball.

There can no longer be any doubt that the Dolphins are once again a quality franchise.

That’s why Fin Fans need to come together and be one in belief of their team.

I’m not saying throw out clinical objectivity — well not wholesale. We are fans after all, and by nature there’s a bit of craziness attached.

But, what I am saying is it’s time to talk Playoffs, and it’s time to stop doubting and bickering about Tannehill, Gase, Tannenbaum, Ross, or whatever. It’s time to have hope in the present and future, and time to dump the misery of the past two decades. The time is now to be stronger together, and to help each other to find joy through love of the Miami Dolphins and the game of football. The world is a screwed up place, and everyone of us needs a little extra boost. We are a family of fans, so let’s get on with having a good time.

This win was a hinge in time opening up the present to the glory of the past.

Now, I’m not saying run the best pay per head and bet we are going to the Superbowl…And, I’m not saying we aren’t. What I am saying is let’s take a page out of Adam Gase‘s playbook. Let’s take one week at a time, and during that week, soak up this wonderful and unexpected ride.

Let’s replace bad images with new ones: Landry fighting and fighting till his teammates arrived and carried him into the end-zone; the look of inevitability on Fisher’s face; a dozen different incredible catches by Parker that end with him scoping up the go ahead score.

Let’s think about Mika, certain beat writers, NFL critics, and opposing fans getting a serious case of the ‘shut-ups’.

Look, each one of us has had our up and downs. Each one of us got it wrong somewhere and on some point. Miami was terrible for a long, long time. Let’s forget it, because we fans were totally right about something: choosing the Miami Dolphins as your team.

It’s been a hard run of near 2 decades. But, yesterday’s win has put an end to that. That great feeling you had against the Rams, well you will be feeling it again. Get used to winning and enjoying being a Fin Fan. It’s time to believe and be a united fan-base. Go Fins!!!

I cannot put enough emphasis on this Miami Dolphins team,

Each week they fine away to win. While watching the game my wife called me to help in the garage so I did not see the last 6 minutes. Basically I went to the garage with the last thoughts of the Fins have not produced a score in 50 some minutes, their 3rd down conversion sucked, Coach Gase has gone one dimensional passing, why are they passing in the rain? and on and on. Later that night I was watching scores and saw 14 to 10. Still didn’t notice the score! It popped up again and I thought that score looked to be 14 to 10. Then I pulled up the results and thought you got to be kidding after that performance. A win is Win. Great job to the Dolphins for not giving up.

On a serous note: The Offensive line we should consider a two to three tight end front for Better blocking, Balance Offense, Balance Offense, Balance Offense, We cannot be one dimensional.

5 Minutes Offensively and 3rd down efficiency of 1-11 will not make the play offs. Supper come back by the Dolphins this effort is required for 60 minutes. A win is A win!

Mahatma Gandhi Quotes – “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” –

The last five minutes of the game the Dolphins played with indomitable Will by scoring enough points to win the game.

Hey Steve. Nothing, I mean nothing pulls me away from a Dolphins game. In fact, my wife and one of my children joined me on the couch for the last part of the game and was high fiving when the second TD was scored. You missed a great ending, but no worries, there is more to come. This team ain’t done yet.
I’m still being cautious about “playoffs” but I’m getting there. Go Phins!

My 5 year old was razing me with why don’t the Dolphins have zero? He watched and high fived me during the last 5 min. Was such a great feeling on so many levels…Yeah, playoffs might come and might not. This stretch is a tough one, but either way most of the checks I was hoping to get this season are now checked — would love to check a few more though.

        I here you Brother!

Ohhh man, brother. I can picture your whole story. I had a similar thing happen during the Fake Spike! It was a girl friend instead of wife — and had nothing to do with cleaning. I turned on the VCR and got an awesome surprise. I’m learning too that this team is full of scrappers, and I need to believe until it hits 00:00. I think Tunsil going down destroyed much chance of running, especially with rain and that crazy Rams nickel D that’s always out there. I don’t think it was Gase’s gameplan, but that Dfront is fast and active and killed it most of the time — BUT, you are 100% correct, they need more balance going forward. Love that quote by Ghandi…doing my darndest to memorize it. The hush-hush nature about Tunsil is making me nervous still no word yet…

Has anyone heard anything about Tunsil? Albert and Pouncey are questionable but I haven’t heard anything about Tunsil

    • admin

Samson no word, but it doesn’t look good as they picked a T up off wavers. But, still no official statements yet…fingers crossed.

Latest is they won’t be sure of his status till the end of the week. Looks very likely Miami will be down 3 starters this week. They also reported they expect all 3 to be back in 3 weeks….uhhhgggg. But, this is a good week to have them all out. San Fran is on a pretty good down swing and Miami is home…just hope Tunsil isn’t injury plagued.

    • admin

First semi substantive response on Tunsil: joe Shad “Clyde said BA is in the same boat as Tunsil. “We hope they all make a miraculous recovery.”

  • Dunner

Side note: did you notice which player was there first high-fiving Gase after the hail marry fell incomplete? It was Carroo, a rookie that doesn’t start, and probably doesn’t play as often as he may think he should. Yet, there he was embracing his coach as if he were his best friend. Again, you have to like what is happening within this franchise.

Be nice to get Howard, Pouncy, Albert, Tunsil all back for the Ravens game.

Wow didn’t notice that!!! Great observation. I’m gonna’ watch the game again and I’ll watch for that. Trying to do a “tape” breakdown of the last 5 mins on O-Line to see what exactly went so right — s my eyes will be peeled for that!!!

  • Dunner

Admin. so true. But, that is where it started, if you recall (sure you do), 2 players were waved/cut (Thomas, Turner), players that You, Lemmus, Myself and others were expecting to get cut during training camp, let alone starting game(s). Instead they cut Young, and look who was our LT to end Sundays game, yep=Young. So we were onto something. Over reaction w Tanny, maybe (hopefully), but the style of football they were playing just wasn’t working (no huddle, up-tempo, etc). We seen that style last few years w Philbin/Laser and it was a disaster basically. So for us to see a repeat of previous years, there was only one way to react=disgusted. One thing is for certain though, we have our head coach for the future. Not only has the atmosphere changed, I believe that free agent players will want to come here, and our own players that are set to become free agents may take a bit less to remain, mainly because we have a direction, and it is a no non sense direction, accountability, and success. Oh, not to mention weather, taxes to boot.

    J-Train Rolls On^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Best thing I can think of is that the Rams players are really po’d because of the way their team lost, and with that D-front maybe they can rattle Brady into some mistakes. That would put them just one game up on us and hopefully come down to week 17.

    • admin

FinFanMan 13…it’s a long shot, but we can hope. One thing the Rams will do is beat them up and that can pay dividends down the road. You’re right about Brady his QB rating drops to near half when he is harassed…man, we can hope!!!

  • Dunner

What to say? They are finding ways to win, and again they find a way. Last week the offense kept them in the game till the defense won it. This week the defense kept them in the game till the offense wins it. Wow!!!

The make shift O-Line battled against one of the top defensive fronts in the league. I noticed how much Miami misses Pouncey in the run game. His ability to get to second level (LBers), and to excel in pulling is the biggest difference between Pouncey and Steen. A healthy O-Line and the playoffs are within reach, without will be an up hill battle.

This defense is actually fun to watch. They are aggressive, and continue to be throughout. Joseph’s philosophy. I like it!

A healthy Parker elevates this offense tremendously.

J-Train continues to roll. Another respectable effort against another top ranked rushing defense. Hoot Hoot!!!

They get to come home and take a deep breath and prepare for a very winnable game. For the first time since the Tennessee game they will be favored,,,,, please, please no trap game conclusion, worked to hard for a let down there.

Well, 6 games remain, 3-3 alone gets a 9-7 record, 4-2 gives us a real shot at the playoffs, 5-1 almost certainly puts us in the playoffs, win out and we have a shot at the division title, a first round bye and a home playoff game (could you imagine, just sayin). Who would have thought just 5 weeks ago following the Tennessee lose the numerous possibilities still possible.

Thank you Dallas (Ravens lose), Thank you Tampa (Chiefs lose), Thank you Indy (Titans lose), Nice that Cincy lose, but I will never thank Buffalo, unless they beat the Pats.

Gase and company continue to impress. This is such a different team than any we’ve seen here in quite a while. All in all, not to bad for the second youngest team in the league.

    J-Train rolls on^^^^^^^^^^^^

    • Lemmus

…best roller-coaster ride around …beats six-flags all to hell and gone …55 minutes of great defense, 5 minutes of the best offense we’ve seen since the Marino days

…and, if the post-game interviews are to be believed, those 5 minutes belonged to TH …not the QB TH who couldn’t get a 1st down all day long …but the leader TH who finally …finally …took the bull by the horns …good god gerty, where was he the past five years, let alone the previous 55 minutes

…I flat don’t know …but I damn sure like the new TH …hoping he sticks around

…and yes Dunner, your defense …our defense …was drowned out by the last five minutes …but TH better be taking them all to Shula’sfor a feast …he owes them …as does every finfan

      • admin

Yeah, Dunner and Lemmus that D stood strong and is the unsung hero, but they likely would have gained more horn blowing if it wasn’t for the rookie QB. T-Hill is def. coming into his own, both in his persona and skills. Probably has alot to do with having a none idiot coach and getting beat like drum…of course the run game is nice too. Just think back to philbin asking the practice squad to go easy on him!!!!! And then there was the nagging of us fans, Mika, the critics…Gase has nailed it on so many levels.

    • admin

You know Dunner, it’s so funny — almost like a movie. I got down on T-Hill and the team at the end of week 5 and then they blow up. It’s almost like a script. We have a above avg. to good QB who’s young, excellent back who is young, LT in Tunsil and an above avg. cast with James on the other side. you have Parker, Landry, Carroo with a nice tough TE in Simms and on D you have kiko who looks like a very good MLB, with an elite DT in Suh who is still sort of young, Phillips who is building and Lippett and Howard Isa and Jones and maybe Branch who looks above average, you have a good coach on both sides…this is a team swinging up and hasn’t hit the top. They will get better and I’m loving it. I am usually low key on expectations, but even though this team might not even make the playoffs, they are making love Dolphins football again.
