All I Want For Xmas Is The Season To End

thumb

The Dolphins put up another stinker by losing 30-14 against the San Diego Chargers, and it was a game that the Dolphins never had a chance to win. They came out flat and were down 23-0 by halftime, and injuries to offensive lineman left the offensive line in complete shambles – beyond the complete shambles they normally are. The Dolphins only have 2 more games remaining, which means two more ugly games remaining until the off-season purge begins – thankfully!

After watching this last game, it is extremely clear that the Dolphins have given up on the season, and the only thing fans can be excited about is that with two more losses on their record. Likely, the Dolphins may end up with a top 5 Draft pick – so sad isn’t it?!  The Dolphins invested a lot of money into this 2015 team, and they even mortgaged some of the future salary cap, which in hindsight now looks like a terrible decision because this team has regressed and appears to be in for a tough couple of years.

There are so many issues with this team that is going to be an extremely tough job for any coach to correct them – regardless of who the next HC is.  Most football gambling fans are betting that the Dolphins are going to make a strong push after New Orleans head coach Sean Payton.  He may be one of the better coaches available, however, even with having Drew Brees as his QB, he is still having an extremely difficult past two seasons.  So, I find it hard to believe he will be able to turn this franchise around anytime soon- it takes both personnel and coaching

Sadly, most Fin Fans have the dreaded feeling that the Dolphins are going to be the laughing stock of the AFC East for many years to come.  The Patriots are going to be a very good football team as long as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are around, and both look poised to be around for at least another 3 more years.  The Bills have a young QB, who in his first year starting appears far ahead of Tannehill in terms of being an effective QB in the NFL – although he has a better line and a pure stud at WR. In addition, the Bills have a lot of young talent on their roster, so they will at least be competitive in years to come.  Lastly, the Jets have a coach that the Dolphins decided to part ways with in Todd Bowles.  Since leaving Miami Bowles has been an assistant coach in winning organizations, and he now has finally found a head coaching position in New York- in ONE season he was able to turn the Jets around into being a winning football team.  Compounding the irony, the Jets do not even have a great QB, which means if they can find a better QB, they have the chance to actually be one of the better teams in the entire AFC in the next few years.

The bottom line is this was supposed to be one of the best Dolphin’s teams that we have seen in many years, and instead, this team has played even worse than any Dolphin team has played in the last 5 years.  This organization needs either a new owner, or the current owner to have a true epiphany. However, with Stephen Ross investing even more money in the stadium, it is highly unlikely that he is going to sell this team any time soon and history rarely fails to repeat itself.  Hope must be held onto, but reality can’t be dismissed: anything is possible, but likely it will be awhile before this organization actually gets back to the playoffs. What are the thoughts of the rest of the Miami Dolphins News fans?

I’ll never buy another ticket so long as this moron Ross owns the team.

There is NO fix coming from this jerk off.

    Deal with it.

  • Dunner

How about lose out and end up with a top 5 pick, thank you Santa!

Miami Dolphins had 1st Grab’s at experience Assistant Coach Todd Bowles.
    1. Bowles served as the Dolphins’ interim head coach in 2011 after Tony Sparano was fired, going 2-1.

***** But Miami Dolphins Decided to Go with less experience Joe Philbim from Green Bay.*****
Who I must say ran the Dolphins into the ground. Now as I recall Joe Philbim PowerPoint Man came highly recommended by the Media from Greenbay.

So! Who ever advise Stephen Ross to go with Philbin over Bowles??????? Please state Who???
Philbim never got Miami pass 8 wins in 5 seasons. Coach Bowles 1st season with the Jets is over 9 wins plus in the Playoffs.

This is not over negative but Did anyone Honestly compare Joe Philbim and Coach Bowles Resume???? Seriously?? Come on Man!

Stephen Ross Leave the Advisers along on this and go get your own Coach! If your adviser recommend go the opposite Direction that they are. You can do bad by yourself. Think Winner who is Winning, Who wins the big Games?? Who develped players, Who produce the most draft picks in five years?

The Philbum pick by Ross and his choice to stay with him another year is the MOST disconcerting thing Ross has done and really has me questioning his instincts and reasoning to the point I think he may be an “idiot savant” of business.

Miami Needs a FRESH START (HERE’s the Solution below). We need a Winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(New England has clinched the play off 12 straight season)

    3. Urban Meyer, Ohio State
    Top college coaches 2015
    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000354752/article/14-for-14-countdowns-of-college-footballs-best

    Career record: 128-22
NFL draft picks the last five years: 22
Nobody gets fans fired up like Meyer, thanks to his somewhat brash and outspoken nature. Still, it’s hard to argue with the results on the field as the offensive-minded head coach has won everywhere from Bowling Green to Ohio State and has two national titles to his name. Considering his worst season is 8-5, Meyer knows exactly what he’s doing and is a great motivator.

    9. Gary Patterson, TCU
    Career record: 120-44
NFL draft picks the last five years: 13

The move to the Big 12 has taken some of the shine off Patterson’s star status, but make no mistake — he’s one of the best defensive minds in the game. He guided the Horned Frogs to a Rose Bowl victory and annually had them in the final top 25 for years. Despite wandering the country from conference to conference, he only has two losing records in 12 years and doesn’t back down from a big game.

    13. Jimbo Fisher, Florida State

    Career record: 45-10
NFL draft picks the last five years: 28
Seminoles fans will likely be upset that Fisher is this low after turning the program back into a powerhouse and winning a national title, but keep in mind he’s still a young head coach and can surely rise up this list. Some early, puzzling losses are the only things keeping him back at the moment because the fastest-talking coach in the country has FSU humming right now

    8. Mark Dantonio, Michigan State

    Career record: 82-46
NFL draft picks the last five years: 13
Consistently one of the toughest Big Ten programs under his watch, Dantonio has been the steady hand that has raised the Spartans’ profile to Big Ten and Rose Bowl champions. He won’t win any awards on signing day, but he knows how to develop talent and field a top-notch defense.

    4. David Shaw, Stanford

    Career record: 34-7
NFL draft picks the last five years: 17
There’s a reason his name pops up anytime there’s an NFL opening, because owners would love to see the calm demeanor he has combined with a great coaching acumen on their sideline. People think he just inherited what Jim Harbaugh did on “the Farm,” but Shaw was a major part of the Cardinal’s rise to become a national power and has elevated the program to become a championship-winning one. Plus, you’ll find no coach on this list who can diagram plays and discuss politics with presidents quite like Shaw.

…Urban Meyer isn’t going anywhere for at least 3 more years …his son just entered high school and he promised his family he wouldn’t move again until the boy graduated …the move from Florida was hard on his kids and he won’t do it again …the rest are gambles imnsho …remember Saban?

…success at the college level doesn’t always translate to the NFL …the roster of failed NFL coaches who were successes in the NCAA is much, much longer than those who succeeded at both

…that aside, Ross is a Michigan die hard so Dantonio is certainly going to be on his list …but I don’t think he, or any other, can handle the GM side w/o a few years of seasoning …and I’m convinced that’s the only way this mess gets fixed.

…the sole pluses on Ross are that hes a multi-billionaire and desperately wants to win …and he’s ready to put his money into doing so …I’m praying he fires the entire FO (except possibly Aponte) and waves enough cash and cedes enough authority to attract someone who can actually make that happen

…and yeah, I believe in the tooth fairy 🙂

    Playoffs !!!!
    Playoffs!!!
    Are you kidding us
We have to start a 5 year rebuild program
Unfortunately we will not draft the right players because Ross wants goodie two shoes type guys
No don’t draft that player – he is the best linebacker – or corner or guard, but he has problems outside of football and we want only nice guys whether they are good or not
We are doomed until Ross decides he’s finally had enough and sells the team but that will not happen for at least 5 years
Ross looks like he is in his 90’s and of course he definitely acts like he is in his 90’s
We need an owner that is looking out for the team not doing real estate deals in NY and who delegates the decisions to a nincompoop

I would like to see mike Shula as our new coach and retire Tannebaum

    • Lemmus

…Shula …70s great, 80s not so great …never able to give Marino a running game despite years of drafts and free agents …there were good reasons why he was replaced.

…Sunday was an offensive disaster and a defensive catastrophe …we stunk, period …and I don’t have any answers except maybe Kraft and Ross swapping cities and teams …my fantasy, take it for what its worth but that’s how bad Sunday was

…the offense, what there was of it, consisted of our QB being badly hurried or hit on virtually every down that didn’t consist of an immediate handoff to a RB …how in the hell Tannehill hasn’t been hurt so far is beyond me …say what you will about him otherwise but he is one tough SoB …Thomas stunk worse at LT than he did at guard …and I didn’t think that was possible …calling him a turnstile insults turnstiles …but then the rest of the OL failed to show either …Rivers had forever to do his reads and wait for a receiver to get open …which they did all too often

…the defense wasn’t much better, even when SD started subbing 2nd and 3rd stringers …Suh had his moments as did Grimes but they were few and far between …and this was against a SD offense that hadn’t scored a TD since Obama attended a madrassah …run or pass, it didn’t make much difference …and I’m trying very hard to give them a break for being on the field so often.

…I really don’t have any suggestions …I think Payton isn’t the answer even if he was dumb enough to take the job …he inherited a mostly rebuilt team and a potentially great QB …and there are good reasons he might well be available.

…I’m praying Ross has an epiphany and does the one thing he hasn’t yet tried and failed at …offer enough money, shares, open pockets, and a guaranteed 5 year contract with an iron clad no fire/zero interference clause …along with absolute final say in every football decision …to lure a proven coach out of retirement/media land …yeah, I remember Parcells but he wasn’t a Ross hire nor did he assume the HC job …I know its a pipe dream but then Sunday was a fin fan’s worst nightmare, eh

…else I may well never see another fins play-off game in my life time 🙁

      • admin

“calling him a turnstile insults turnstiles”, that one made me hurt, Lemmus. Yeah, T-Hill has really one year left for the Dolphins to move on or commit long term, so really what is done with him and how he does next season will mostly likely be the long term prognosis of this team…as of now, they are on life support. Yeah Ralph Philbust was milktoast and couldn’t handle men…we lost a few good players who went elsewhere to succeed. We need some serious help, but if T-Hill can even be a piece of the puzzle, then a good coach and Gm can make things happen…now finding a good coach and Gm and getting them to come here is a whole other story.
