A Meaningful Game

It is the last weekend of October, the NFL is in its 8th week of the season, and the Miami Dolphins actually have a very meaningful game coming up this weekend. Not only is it a huge game, that will have major implications for the positioning in the division, but it is also against their most hated rivals, the New York Jets.

Coming into the season most football betting software fans had the Phins sitting in the basement for the 2012 season, however, the Phins now have a chance to make a statement this weekend, and show that they will be in the thick of things for much of the season.

Obviously Phins news fans would love to see their beloved Dolphins go up to New York and come back home with a victory, but regardless of the outcome at least there is some excitement down in Miami again. I know I am getting ahead of myself, but this upcoming game feels a little different than the rest of the games this season. I know this is going to be a bold statement, but this game has the feeling of a playoff game. Both teams desperately want and need to come away with a victory, and I just hope that this young Dolphins team does not come into this game playing tight. I hope the bye week will give us an advantage in the preparation department, and that the Phins come out swinging early and often.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a couple of trick plays to open up the game, and it will be interesting to see how the Dolphins play coming out of the bye. Are we going to see a team that is slow and looks like they missed a week of live game-time action, or are we going to see a rejuvenated team that is focused and well prepared? I think this will be very telling, in seeing what type of coaching staff we have. I think it is fair to say that most Phins news fans have been happy with the current coaching staff, and if this team comes sprinting out of the gate on Sunday I think it will go a long way in seeing that we have a coaching staff that actually knows what they are doing, and is capable of steering this team in the right direction.

This one’s definitely a corner-turner. This is the type of game in the past three years we would need Sparano and company to win, but they would fall flat. Miami needs to win this one to make a statement, and they need to win by more than a measly last second field goal or a tough last-minute defensive stand.

My feeling is Miami will win.

I completely agree and would just absolutely love to see them play when they played the Raiders, just blow the doors off them in the second half of the game

    @ReggieBush.

I will buy your jersey for myself and my two boys if we are 7-3. This team is getting me excited for the first time in quite a while. I love the comments back and forth with dildoface Rex, Reggie, Maybin (who?), and Pouncey. We just need to beat these assholes.

haha sounds good, yeah i agree this team is def making me excited about watching them on Sundays… I just hope we can get a victory against the Jets

Yeah it would be nice to pound them like the 49ers pounded them

Amen brother. This is definitely a statement game. The next four games should be victories and we will be sitting at 7-3.

yes I agree, but it all starts against the hated Jets, and it would be nice to put them in there place, which is at the bottom of the division. Lets face it they are banged up and we need to exploit their weaknesses.

We really missed Wilkens. The D played well enough, but the run game and lack of offense wore the interior out. Tua got nervous and the blocking had issues. Thought the early calls were meh… need to watch the game a couple more times. Just ran out of gas. Fitz was a much better fit for this defense. Not saying he is the better long term answer, but a smart D and good pass rush favors the seasoned QB over the talented youngin’. Hurt to throw away a very winnable game. But, the rookies on O didn’t play well. Jackson, Tua, Hunt, and Kindley (with his bum foot) had a huge dose of rookie blues.

Grrr, I misspelled the word *ALL in that last comment.
Please delete it as I feel like a silly illiterate jets fan now…
Anyways, as I was trying to say…
    FINS UP ALL DAY!!!

I think this is a very winnable game for fins. Yets are banged up, fins catching them at the right time.

I believe coaching, game planning etc will be very important in winning this game, in addition to turnovers and big plays.

I see Yets playing it conventional, ground and pound, play action, some Tebow in short yardage, goal line, ST.

The real question for me is, what will Philbin and Sherman feature in their game plan having an extra week to prepare. I hope there a number of wrinkles the Yets will have to adjust to at the half, there are some matchup issues if Sherm shows a 4 and 5 wide in more of a hurry up. Splitting out RBush and Fasano will spread Yets D opening up lanes for Tanny to keep the ball.

    Fins should win by 6.

Yes that is the main thing I am looking for in this game as well, With an added week of preparation will the coaching staff deliver an even better game plan. I think we match up very well against the Jets, and Holmes not playing is huge for us, because he always has big games against us. I can’t stand that stupid first down thing he does with the ball when he makes a catch for a first down. That and the stupid fly the arms like a Jet when they score a touchdown, those two things make me so pissed off.
